Product Overview

  • Induction cooking technology boils water in just 2 minutes
  • Stainless steel and cast iron cookware are induction compatible
  • Ceramic Glass cooktop with Hot Surface indicator light
The Frigidaire Gallery 30 in. Induction Cooktop combines the power of gas with the easy clean-up of electric to give you the utmost cooking flexibility. Induction cooking is 70% more efficient than gas and 20% more efficient than electric and offers more responsive, exceptional temperature control at low and high heats so it is gentle enough to melt chocolate and powerful enough to boil water. And because heat is generated directly in the cookware, the cooktop stays cooler to the touch, making it safer and easier to clean. Induction elements are compatible with most stainless steel and cast iron cookware. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of a pot or pan, it is induction friendly.
  • 4 powerfully efficient induction elements are more responsive than gas or electric and offer up to 3,400-Watt of power, so you can easily go from simmer to boil
  • Express-Select Electronic Touch Controls are sleek in design and easily go from warm to boil with the touch of your finger
  • The Induction Cooktop offers more precise temperature control, with a 2,300-Watt element that is gentle enough to melt chocolate and a 10 in. element with up to 3,400-Watt that is powerful enough to quickly boil water
  • With induction cooking, heat is generated directly in the cookware, so the cooktop stays cooler to the touch - making it safer and easier to clean
  • Ceramic glass cooktop is sleek in style and easy to clean
  • Sensors detect the presence of a pan, so when a pot is removed and the element is still on, the cooktop will automatically turn off
  • Indicator lights illuminate when the cooking surface is hot
  • Approved for installation over a single wall oven
  • Limited One-Year Warranty with extended functional parts protection nationwide; varies by appliance

Questions & Answers

How many levels of heat do the burners have?

Looking for the number of different levels of heat that each burner has. Some other brands list 17 levels, while some list 9 levels, etc. I don't see anything listed for this model.

30 in. Smooth Ceramic Glass Induction Cooktop in Black with 4 Elements is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it. Not sure if I love it I've had it for 3 mos. big change from gas stove. Much faster heat up from anything I've ever had. Still getting used to what setting I need for certain groups kinds of cooking. Easy to clean as long as you find the right thing to clean it with and wait til it cools completely. I use the Weiman cooktop daily cleaner spray and paper towel unless I have a major burned on event. I did already get a few small scratches on the glass from someone sitting a rough pot on my cooktop. So bummed out over that. It makes a weird buzz sound at high heat levels that I have learned to get used to but alarms others when they hear it. The cooktop does get hot despite the commercial showing it not melting ice. I like it overall but I'm not convinced it was worth the huge price tag. Im sure in time the issues I listed will improve and more competition will cause the price to come down which will make the purchase more worth it that is is right now. It does look awesome in my newly renovated kitchen and I get plenty of inquiries about it since everyone is researching this newest technology .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great induction cooktop I've been using this induction cooktop for 3 months now and absolutely love it. Works as it should -- rapid response to temperature adjustments, thick pans heat up quickly, water boils super fast with the power booster (in less than half the time it took with my former radiant cooktop). The power levels available are sufficient to give me good control of precise cooking temps. Safety feature, warmer and timer work well. Touch pads are incredibly sensitive, so a light touch will do. Surface cleans very easily. I only wish the largest burner can accommodate my 13 inch pan better. It works, but I notice that food along the edges of the large pan do not simmer like food in the middle. Having grown up using gas stoves, personally, I'd still prefer induction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3 Normal Burners, 1 Weak One I would have given this appliance 5 stars except for the fact that the lower right burner does not heat as quickly or as well as the other three. The technician who we called to service the cooktop said that it was working fine. We just needed a bigger pan. I purchased a larger pan to test this theory, and got the same low-power result. The burner does work, but not as well as the others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Fast Heating For the most part we are very happy with this cooktop. It looks amazing, heats quickly, and is very easy to clean. Our one complaint is the largest burner (on the bottom right). It does not heat up as quickly as the others, and seems to put out less power in general. The repairman said that I need to use a larger pan....apparently even my big square pancake griddle isn't large enough to form a proper connection. I am a bit skeptical, and plan to purchase a larger induction-friendly pan so that I can test it out before the warranty expires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cooktop This is a great cooktop and cooks fast. We replaced an electric cooktop because it was so slow and hard to keep clean. Not the case with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love to cook Awesome cooking experiences! I've been cooking on this cooktop for 6-months now and I can't find a thing to complain about. I love to cook and this makes it an even more enjoyable experience. The only caution I would give is that you can't putter around and multi-task too much while cooking because it heats/cooks so fast. I've had to learn to boil water all over again (for boiled eggs)...my first batch burst in the pan because I wasn't paying attention and the water boiled so quickly. I would give 10 stars if I could! Highest recommendation for the brand and features. Cleanup couldn't possibly be easier either...no knobs to get in the way. I LOVE!

I tested all of our cookware prior to buying. I have some older Towncraft Cookware that is very magnetic, but It does not work on this cooktop. I'm sure it is because of the multi-ply bottoms. This bottom does not conform to the outside diameter of the pots. That's the way the pots are designed. The pots do heat a little, but not enough to boil two cups of water. I was ready to return the stove because we have a lot of money invested in the cookware. Before giving up, I tried a newer Kitchen Craft SS pot and it boiled more water in less than 3 minutes. Towncraft and Kitchen Craft are made by West Bend, but they are not made the same. My wife wants to keep this cooktop, so we will be buying more Kitchen Craft cookware. Warning to those thinking of buying an induction cooktop. Make sure your cookware is compatible or plan to buy some that is. You will love the safety features and how quick the top cools. The only heat in the top is generated from the heated pot. I do highly recommend this unit. It's awesome and beautiful.
