This tape lacks the tensile strength and higher temperature rating of sheathing tape. I would not recommend it if you need to use a heat gun for the resin bubbles. The Frost King site gives no clue as to what material it is made of. https://www.frostking.com/contact

I have used it for many years with no problems. That being said, I recently noticed that I had it in a window that gets sun all day and the tape was attached to a wooden sill for about 10 years. When I went to peel off the tape some paint did peel off. That was probably due to the sun and length of time in place. For applications not in sun all day and used seasonally, it is probably fine. It is best used to stick to non-porous surfaces like plastic window mouldings and then it peels off without residue even after many years. I have used this tape over the years on many surfaces and for the most part have been very happy with the results.

I use this tape indoors to seal leaks around windows during the winter. We have an old house and leaky windows, especially in the basement, is the norm. The tape does a decent job sealing and has good adhesion to painted surfaces (OK on bare wood, but not as good as painted surfaces). The issue I have is the tape doesn't stay on the spool. I don't know if the spool is wound too tightly or the non-adhesive side is so smooth that the adhesive side won't stay on, but the tape spool looks like a tape volcano after about 4 months. This is the second roll I've had that has done this, and the latest roll has been the best volcano to date.
