Questions & Answers

Is this safe to use on an indoors, painted wall? Will it remove paint from the wall?

Answer This Question

It can be easily removed from walls.

I purchased the 84” x 110” package. It clearly states on the box that the plastic sheet is 84” wide. That is not the case. I bought 4 boxes and each sheet in all boxes is only 42” wide. The length is indeed 110”. I only got half the plastic I purchased.

It is folded one more time. Sometimes it’s a little difficult to get it to open up.

How easy is it to remove the adhesive after use ?
        ByOct 13, 2024
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

In most cases, the adhesive will come right off. for stubborn spots, a mixture of water nd either Goof-Off or Goo-Gone (about 50-50 mixture) will help remove the adhesive.

No the film is not thick enough to hold up. You would need to use framing to go over any plastic being put up.

I did this for years. I cut thin cardboard, i.e., cereal boxes, in 1/2" strips and stapled them over the plastic, which I pulled taut over the window or door frame I was covering, with an extra strip of cardboard across the center to prevent billowing.

Using an ice cube rubbed on the spots where there is still residue, and then rubbing it off with your thumb should remove it.

When I put the plastic on near the bottom of the door I didn’t get it on straight. When I heated it there are several wrinkles that won’t come out. Can I pull off the plastic from the tape and reapply it and then heat it again to remove the wrinkles?

                Answer This Question

Just do it near where the wrinkles are. No need to remove completely. With enough heat, most of the time those wrinkles will come out. Do not get too close with the hair dryer, 6-8" is close enough.

This is not the correct material for such. Crystal clear vinyl sheeting would be a better choice.

                    Wonders never cease.
I bought this TODAY. It was 6 degrees, just short of buying a Eden Pure expensive space heater.. I purchased the patio kit to cover an encasement of three windows.. I don’t know why it says tear proof, 😒 but I have the frigid cold blocking solar Curtains also bought a roll of weather tape, to seal after I heated up the treatment.. So much easier than dropping loads of cash on a space heater..

This Frost King shrink wrap film was used by me for another purpose! I shrink wrapped my Christmas gift baskets and they turned out beautifully. I am obsessed with the process and how it shrinks right around the gift to hold everything in place, and makes a wonderful presentation.

Installed correctly. Fell off after one day.
I've used different brands over the years and this one didn't hold for one full day. I cleaned the surfaces and installed on a warm day. Waste of money.

All of the adhesive came off of the tape and stuck to the plastic. I think the products were old.

Worked GREAT for apx 2 weeks .. But then I was NOT using as intended. I installed it over boarded-up bronken-out windows caused by Hurricane Michael! Unfortunately the weather seeping thru the boards caused the double sided tape to loosen and it came loose from the wall surrounding the window! A SUPER IDEA if no weather seeps in to cause the loosening effect!
