Customer Reviews

E/O 1-1/4 in. x 36 in. Under-Door Threshold for Saddle Thresholds is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A funny I thought that the reviews so far were pretty humorous. A number of individuals tried pulling the rubber seal through the length of the channel. Their complaints were that it was extremely hard to pull, you had to lubricate the channel to make it slide easier, and one person even ripped the rubber seal. Next time try installing one 36 inch edge of the rubber seal into one side of the channel groove, and then bend the rubber seal in half and install the other 36 inch rubber edge into the other side of the channel. Do not slide the rubber seal the length of the channel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks FAST We installed one of these on our doorway about 6 weeks ago. The rubber is already breaking away from the top! I thought I could buy just the replacement rubber piece. Wrong. You have to buy the whole thing again - aluminum and screws too! Why not just sell the rubber replacement to insert into almost new aluminum? We're going to try this one more time. If it tears away again, we'll try something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't Slide It...Fold It For those folks having trouble putting the vinyl weatherstripping in the aluminum channel, don't insert it into the end of the aluminum channel and try to pull it along. Instead, insert one edge of the weatherstrip into one slot of the aluminum channel along its entire length. Now starting near one end, squeeze the free edge of the weatherstrip down slightly (toward the previously secured edge) so that the vinyl becomes a slight U-shape; now you can insert this free weatherstrip edge into the opposite open slot of the aluminum channel. Work your way along the entire length of the aluminum channel a few inches at a time, folding and inserting as you go. When finished, go back and smooth the weatherstripping one final time to make sure both edges are secured in the slots of the aluminum channel. Doing it this way also avoids the problem of the any exposed screw heads that didn't seat completely in the countersunk holes that were drilled in the aluminum channel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult assembly and poor attachment features I purchased two of these at the same time and had identical experience. Assembly: It was very difficult to slide the vinyl weatherstripping into the aluminum channels. I ultimately had to gently pry the channels apart and lubricate, using pliers to pull the vinyl into place. Very dissapointing! Attachment: Only 3 pre-drilled holes were provided positioned such that cutting the sweep to fit a 32" door left only two holes. The countersunk holes are essential for allowing the vinyl sweep to clear the screw heads. I successfully installed both sweeps and am glad that these "invisible" sweeps are available, but was so dissapointed in the QC, instructions, and usability, that I felt prompted to rate this product
