Can this be used on a car window without the tape affecting the paint?

Asked by: Spaj17
This will not work on a car window, and the tape is not formulated to work on the paint of a car.

E/O Heavy Duty Shrink Window Insulation Kit (3-Pack) is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps the Draft Out! I applied it last night and found an almost immediate difference. It is an absolute must to make sure that the surfaces you apply the tape to are clean and free of any residue or the tape will not adhere well. It is also advisable to heat the cleaned surface with the blow dryer just before applying the tape if said surface is cold. I'm not sure how long the tape holding the plastic will stay attached. If you have cellophane tape used for packaging, it might be worth it to leave the outer edges of the window frame untouched to tape the plastic to the frame after you have finished installing to ensure the plastic stays in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor double side tape strenght If you want to use these sheets you really need to find another double side tape from a different manufacturer . It won't mater how thick are the sheets, the tape won't hold up more than a week.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked as expected Bought these last year, as the windows in our bathroom and daughters bedrooms were quite drafty. Simple enough to install by myself, and stayed on from November through April. The rooms were much less drafty, and much warmer as a result. By the end of the winter, sometimes a corner would come off, but quite easy to put back on without much issue. Had none of the problems with the tape that the others mentioned. There was enough tape included in the package to have some left over. Will be purchasing them again for this winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from double sided tape ineffective and shrink film melts I did the first test window yesterday. I washed the window frame and then used alcohol to degrease. I had some trouble separating the tape from the backer paper. as I was sticking the border tape down I noticed that the tape didn't stick very well. I got the film up and started blow drying it and the film actually melted where the dryer was not touching and on medium heat. the next day, the corner peeled off in the night. more than a waste of money, also a waste of time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frost king poor quality I own a mobile home so I use window film every year. Have purchased 3M brand for 14 years and had great results. Gave this Frost King brand a try and within one week 14 of 16 windows I did had the plastic fall off. The tape stuck well to the window frames, it's the plastic film falling off the tape. It's upsetting enough that I wasted my money on a defective product, let alone the hassle of doing all my windows again.

Installed this hd film with larger width tape roll it came with, per the instructions as I have for many years without significant issues. Three weeks later one by one, tape is releasing from all of the windows, no matter how many times I try and reseal it. We’re talking 15 windows that I have to redo again. Won’t waste my time and money on this product again.

Film pulled away from tape after a couple of days. Tried to stick film back on tape, but kept pulling loose again. I decided to remove film and tape and go with different product. I was unable to remove double sided tape from painted window trim. What a mess! This is the first and last time I will use Frost King product.

I use this product every winter, living in a windy environment and the Heavy Duty works well, was glad Frost King came out with this version. Only complaint I have is not with the product, but with Home Depot no longer carrying this product on their store shelves, instead, having to order it online.
