Q:Can I use this on a 44in. X 59in. window?
by|Jan 2, 2024

A:  The Material is 42" X 62" and will not fit this window. The Patio Door/ Large Window kit will, it's 62" x 108"

    Answer This Question

A:  It really doesn't do much to help reduce noise, it will help reduce heat loss from the windows.

          Worked for a month
I put this over a window to block the cold from coming in in the winter. The shrink feature worked well initially, when I hair-dried it. The surface was very smooth and I was impressed. However, after about one month, the tape (not film) started peeling away from the window (frame is made of painted wood, one of the surfaces explicitly claimed on the box). I had to put duct tape and a battery on top to keep the film from falling away completely from the corner (see pictures). I expected more.

                  42X62 Indoor 3 pack.
I have purchased these for years and have never had a issue. This year, I purchased 3- 3packs. 2 pkg were were fine except for the lack of shrinkage. They wouldn't shrink even using 2 separate blow dryers. Now the 3rd box was the issue, 2 of the 3 plastic sheets were cut in half upon unfolding. Thankfully I planned on using one on my small bathroom window. I'm not sure if it's the quality control department or lack of help but for the price, it would have been nice to have all 3 panels.

                    Great product, bought more.
These worked great in our rental cottage for the winter months. There are a few older windows in the house and I found these easy to put on and work well. No more drafts and the room stay warm. You won’t be able to open the windows though unless an emergency. I had to stop my husband one day from trying. There were some bad reviews about quality and placement, but this material was easy for me to do but I like tasks like this. You have to be a do it yourself or not just wanting to get it done fast. Follow the instructions, do it right and you will be pleased.

This product was 1/2" too short to stretch from the top of the window to the window sill. Fortunately, this being my first time to use it, I started with a window that is shuttered at the bottom and has a valance at the top, so when I trimmed the excess from the sides, I used some of that to cover the little bit of exposed tape at the top, and then I used ordinary invisible tape to tape some of the excess from the sides to the bottom of the plastic so that it would reach to the tape on the bottom sill. Then I shut the shutter, so no one will see that I had to patch it at the bottom. Stretching from side to side, there were almost no wrinkles at all, so I barely had to use the hairdryer at all!
