I was anticipating these being a little more heavy duty. They are cut resistant, not cut proof. So you can use them when cutting veggies and other kitchen items. They do work well for cutting up hot meat such as steak or chicken off the grill. I do use them as a layer of protection when working on the grill. They insulate a bit from the grill but you can still feel the heat. The gloves fit snugly when putting them on. I usually wear medium and these are snug on my hands. I have thin fingers and thinner hands.

I’ve been looking for some heat resistant gloves that will protect my hands from sharp blades, protect my hands from intense heat, and are washable. When I saw these gloves, I thought, “that sounds like just what I’m looking for!” I do a lot of meat smoking and BBQ as well so my hands get dirty, are exposed to sharp knives and heat. My first attempt with these gloves was with my smoker. The actual meat doesn’t get intensely hot, but cast iron skillets and stainless steel grates can get pretty warm. After 6 hours of smoking, I put on my gloves to retrieve my rewards from the smoker. I reached in to grab a hot cast iron skillet, while I wasn’t burned, I could feel more heat then I had expected. It was better than grabbing the skillet with my bare hands but DEFINITELY not heat proof. They do resist heat but not for long (maybe about 10 seconds). Next was the cut test, I laid out the gloves and proceeded to saw them with a serrated chef knife. No holes in the gloves where I cut so on that count, they delivered.. Third criteria is washing, I ran them through my clothes washer and dryer with a load of towels. The gloves didn’t fall apart or become misshapen, so the washable claim seems true as well.

This G & F Cut Resistant Gloves with Heat Resistant Silicone Coated Palm, Cut Level 5, Food Grade (2) Medium is really a terrific multi purpose item for use in the kitchen or wherever you need a lot of protection for your hands while handling sharp objects. I have used it mainly for grating since I often scrape my skin and nails during food prep but will now use it for other tasks that will require a bit of safety from accidentally cutting/puncturing my hands. Love the non slip grip and it's machine washable for multiple re-use. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.

First pair of Cut Resistant Gloves with heat resistance and silicone coated palms I have owned. Never gave much thought to a product like this. The gloves are a cut level 5(extreme protection against cuts, or punctures), food grade, and a size medium. First I used the gloves in the kitchen. I grate onions for my grilled burgers at lunch time. The onion that is too small to grate I use later for dinner. Wearing this glove while I grated enabled me to grate the entire onion. There were no big chunks leftover, or grated knuckles. If you grate a lot food products, especially cheese these are the gloves for you. Next I wore a glove on my hand holding a tomato. I cut it very thin, and didn't have to worry about cutting my finger as i came to the end of the tomato. I use just a blade when I breakdown boxes. It is quicker, but at times I end up with a cut finger. I wore the glove and my finger was not cut, and the glove was not shredded. It states heat resistant gloves. I'm able to pull hot drinks out of the microwave easier, but I wouldn't press my luck with really hot stuff. Although, I do plan to use them on my garden hose head. It has been so hot here in Fl that If I forget to put my hose away the hose head is too hot to handle initially. The gloves have a snug fit. They didn't get in the way while cutting etc. like some gloves do. They are machine washable in cold water. But, I still plan on buying a second pair for the kitchen since I used this pair outside and for utility purposes. There are so many more uses for these gloves. I highly recommend them to protect your hands around the house.

this is my first pair of cut resistant kitchen gloves. i like the added protection when cutting bagels and crusty bread. these gloves look good, they have a silicone grip which is non-slip and they are a stretch weave so they fit nicely on the hand. i needed to test them, i used a cleaver which is near razor sharp. i sliced is across the palm, not a mark, i pressed harder and sliced, nothing. then i chopped the glove, not a mark, WOW. the package says 3 times tougher then leather. i agree, i am very happy with these gloves. i did all the testing on an EMPTY glove.

comfortable and don't make my hands sweat wearing them for long projects. Just the right amount of stretch to keep them close to your skin so they don't get caught on project materials. Good value for the price point.

The gloves were true to size as ordered. They are exactly what I need for everyday use in food preparation. They do very well protecting my hands from knife cuts as I chop and dice foods. The rubberized grip on the underside of the gloves is perfect to keep a grip on everything I’m working with white keeping my hands safe from cuts. I also use them when handling my other small appliances like removing the sharp blades from blender and food processor. I am very happy with them so far.
