These gloves should be great to protect arms from rose thorns because I have found them to be excellent protection against my 35# labradoodle puppy's sharp, biting teeth when I bathe her. The gloves extend to my elbows, and the cuffs and palms are heavy enough to stop those little dagger-like teeth. The price is a good trade-off for what I'd previously spent on adhesive bandages and alcohol!
