I got this product for my Brothers 1 year old Great-Grandson, he loves to play outside and especially in the dirt, he’s a typical Minnesota boy, rain, snow, or sunshine, he’s outside. His Parents have decided to teach him how to grow vegetables and flowers, so I thought this product would be the perfect Christmas gift for him, it is made of sturdy material, so I know it will last.

So far my son is enjoying these garden tools for children. Notice I resisted calling them toys. These are actually useful and do serve a purpose beyond something to keep youngsters busy in the dirt, sand, or woodchips. The hand rake, shovel, and pitchfork all actually work but certainly not well as not as sturdy as adult tools. They are also fairly sharp hence why I resisted calling them toys from the beginning.

I've been gardening for 70 of my 75 years, first lured in by my Granny. Now, like Tom Sawyer whitewashing the fence, I've lured in kids, grand-kids, and great-grandkids. The little ones were always eager to help, but always struggled with grown-up tools. And, of course, I had to keep them away from anything with sharp edges. This JustForKids Water Pail and Tool Set is the perfect solution! These are REAL tools, just slightly smaller, and the metal edges have been rounded. The cute metal pail stands 6-1/4" tall and 6-1/4" across the top, so it's big enough to actually carry potting soil or water, without getting too heavy for the little ones. The hand tools are about 7-1/2" long, with comfortable handles and even a hanging hole. Whether your child enjoys gardening, just playing in the mud hole, or making sand castles at the beach, this set is a good, sturdy addition. My camera is a little off, but the pail is apple green, the handles are lime green, and the metal parts are teal blue.

Pail is metal, about 6-1/2 inches tall, with a wood handle, the working part of the 3 tools included are painted metal, a shovel, cultivator/weeder and rake. These are about 7-1/2 inches long. The handles of these are hard plastic. The cultivator/weeder tips are a bit sharp, won’t cut you in normal use, but they could gouge.
Made in China.
Probably ok for children 7 and up. I think the metal will rust if left outside.
