Easy to Apply, Easy to Work, Great Adhesion
We have had an issue with water leaking in from the edging on our roof. Cracks have always developed an allowed water to seep underneath the eaves and cause damage to the plywood and facia. The Roof Mate Butter Grade Flashings designed to work with the Roof Mate Butter Grade Fabric. We cleaned the roof and applied the butter grade flashing along with the fabric as directed. Thick applications (1/2") did not crack while drying. After the first coat and sealing we applied a second, level coat of butter grade flashing. Together these made a tight bond. We are hopeful this will cure our issue. Next is the primer and Top Coat to finish the job!

Very good product
I recommend this product to help with sealing seams to prevent leaky gutters and flashing. It dries fast enough. The smell is bearable and this product gets the job done.

It didn't last on a flat roof with standing water but through one rain storm. I had to go back and use good old mastic.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with RoofMate Flashing. However, acrylic coatings are not recommended for use on standing water or ponding water due to the fact that they will not resist some of the damages that occur. In addition, it doesn't sound like the product had enough time to fully cure before the rain storm which may have also led to the poor performance. For standing or ponding water that will be on the roof for more then 24 - 48 hours we would recommend using a silicone flashing next time. gaf

I'm sorry to hear that, per our tech data sheet and application manuals, we do recommend, as with all acrylic flashings that you don't apply it if rain is in the forecast within 24 hours of application. This is due to the fact that the product will not have enough time to properly cure leading to the wash off you experienced. gaf

Easy to apply. I am using it to patch a protective coating that has chipped off, on top of a chimney. Seems to work so far.

I will be taking this product back as soon as possible. It has the consistency of paint and it needs to be thicker to do the job right. Especially on vertical services.

Hi, we're sorry you had a poor experience with the product; we like to describe RoofMate Flashing Grade as having a thick, buttery consistency which is much thicker than a paint. Did you properly mix the product before using? Please give us a call at 1-877-GAF-ROOF if you'd like to report this experience and discuss other options that may better suit your needs. Thanks. gaf
