WeatherSide fiber cement siding is the 1 and only solution for replacing or repairing old asbestos siding shingles. It's available in a variety of sizes and shapes to match many of the old siding shingles installed over the last 60-years. Unlike some of the original siding shingles that it replaces, WeatherSide pre-primed siding shingles contain no asbestos. It's easy to install, after properly removing the old siding, simply nail the WeatherSide siding in place and paint. WeatherSide is even resistant to warping, denting, rotting, expansion/contraction and termite infiltration.

Yes you can buy individual shingle, I myself had to buy a pack which is $150.00 a bundle. It was cheaper for the amount I needed, and I needed the wavy pattern that had to be ordered it wasn't in stock.

If you have the old wavy asbestos shingles these are the exact fit. Home Depot sell the nails. They will come up as( by all three) when you make purchase online. These are not available in store, you have to order online. The first time I ordered it took six weeks for the product. Second time. they only took a week. Not sure how many come in a box part I think it's about 12(33 square feet per bundle)

I set the pre drilled holes of the upper course just above the top edge of the lower. This gave a consistent 11” face. It also prevents you from penetrating the lower course which will chip and crack if you do not drill it first. I have an older home and had to conform in some locations which required nailing through the lower course, and there are filler pieces that also required me to add holes to the upper course. In both cases I tried many tools to drill. The best I found so far is the Dremel 562 tile cutting bit. Rotozip has one like it too. Drill bits just didn’t seem to hold up.

Perfect match the old asbestos siding. Comes primed with a grayish tint. Great for replacing damage shingles when adding new window or door. Hard to tell the difference when all shingles are painted with the old shingles. The only negative is the price. Cost me over $300 to side a 4 by 3 enclosed porch that I converted to a powder room

Matched good. Not quite as textured as old siding but still looks good. Somewhat brittle, but it's the nature of it as well as the old asbestos one. Overall happy with how it turned out

It’s a great match and fit with older asbestos type siding. Was easy to install and cuts with a diamond blade in an angle grinder. Be sure to buy the recommended nails for installation. I’m glad that I did. I did have to predrill some holes before nailing. A good 1/8” bit lasted 4 boxes of siding.

The tile matched the 50 year old siding exactly. I used a wet tile saw to cut the tile to size. Very sturdy, not as brittle as I thought.

Excellent product and identical to the old asbestos shingles! We had a few cracked/broken shingles which we wanted to fix before getting our house painted - these did the trick and were fairly easy to work with. Bundles come with 18 shingles and the box weighs 53lbs. Shipping was very quick and actually arrived a day early! Product is a bit expensive but I'd gladly pay it again to save thousands on having to re-do the entire siding on my house. My house has flat/smooth wavy shingles however these come with vertical ridges. If you want the flat/smooth side simply flip them over and prime with exterior grade paint. These shingles come primed but only on the ridged side (as shown in the picture). To remove the old/broken shingles, I recommend using a dremel tool with a flat blade. Slide the blade up under the existing shingle and rip through the nails holding it in place. You should then simply be able to slide the shingle down and out. This will save you tons of time and avoids damaging other shingles using a hammer and flat bar. You should also wear gloves and a face mask since you will be working with asbestos siding. When sliding the new shingle into place, I recommend using 2-1/4" x 7 Trim Screws as opposed to nails. The screws will look identical to the nails once you paint and will also hold better. Use a soft headed hammer to shift the shingle as needed. If you need to cut the shingles, I recommend using the same dremel to do so. Be patient and let the dremel do the work. I simply traced the old shingles onto the new which worked really well. Overall, really happy and satisfied with this product! Highly recommended!!

My home was built in the 40s and has this exact style of shingle siding, and yes, mine is asbestos. This Purity Fiber cement siding is a great advancement in materials and durability. BUT..... the holes are an inch off the original siding and MUST be drilled to be in alignment. Great stuff if your doing a total installation, if your replacing damaged siding or covering deleted windows this is a pain in the posterior as a concrete drill must be used to re-drill each piece.
