WeatherWatch® Mineral-Surfaced Leak Barrier is a key part of the GAF Lifetime Roofing System.1 It’s eligible for Lifetime limited warranty when used on Lifetime Shingle roofs1 and it’s an eligible component of GAF residential enhanced warranties. How does WeatherWatch® Protect your Roof? By Creating a barrier at the most vulnerable areas of your asphalt shingle (at the eaves and rakes, in valleys, & around chimneys, etc.), WeatherWatch® Mineral-Surfaced Leak Barrier helps prevent leaks due to water backing up in your gutters, wind-driven rain, and, in the North, damaging ice dams. It will also help protect your home from expensive wall and ceiling staining from leaks.
- Code Compliance and Risk Reduction: Protection against ice dams is required by most building codes2 at eaves wherever the January average temperature is 25°F (-4°C) or lower or where there is a possibility of ice forming in the eaves — i.e., the area labeled “North”. In Southern/warmer climates, leak barriers provide critical protection against wind-driven rain.

Q:Can this product be used on a (pressure treated plywood) wheelchair ramp, in order to provide an anti slip surface? The Contractor that built ramp used rolled roofing, nailed it down and is now coming apart and breaking in many areas.

Do not buy
This is garbage....installed and the very next day it was not attached in spots, installed over brand new decking...and yes, was installed properly!! I have experience roofing for almost 30 years now...never had this problem before!!!

Works pretty great, sticks to wood substrate and drip edge well, has a bit more trouble sticking to Feltbuster or other deck protection when you overlap it at the rake ends. It's pretty slick once installed so be careful walking on it. The asphalt granules also come off much easier than I thought they would so try not to spend too much time on it. This may be normal since this is a mineral-surfaced ice and water shield rather than a poly or film-surfaced one. This is my first roof replacement so I wouldn't know if it is normal, it just surprised me how easily some areas wore out.
