Product Details

Tri-Flex XT underlayment is a high strength woven synthetic roofing underlayment coated on both sides with slip resistant polymers. The new and improved coating formulation provides superior foot traction. This composition creates a tough, weather-resistant membrane designed to perform in the harshest conditions in North America.

  • Lighter and covers more area - a roll of underlayment is around half the weight of #30 felt, and has nearly 5 times the coverage

      A:  It could, but current building codes require more for energy reduction with foundations in most states.  You can check with your states building code enforcement.

        A:  Yes, It did very well as additional protection against leaks with the shingle job I used it for so it will do even better with as a underlayment for metal roofing.

          A:  We bought this for a porch roof. It was put under rolled roofing as an added layer if waterproofing. My father-in-law has used this for shed roofs in which he never got around to adding any roofing at all for a year. It kept the water from ruining the plywood. I don't see why it could not be used for metal roofs. Anything to prevent water damage is my motto. I even have used this to line my raised garden beds! Good product!

            A:  That's why I used it.  Graces Triflex underlayment is the best you can buy and it's especially good for metal roofs because they tend to sweat.

              Great product! Lightweight and extremely durable. I've had it exposed for 30 days or so while the roofing is on order. No leaks and no problems. Everyone who has worked on the roof has commented about how slip-resistant it is compared to felt. If it's put down according to the manufacturer's specifications this works incredibly well. There is another version of Tri-Flex called Tri-Flex 15 that I have not used. I highly recommend the XT version.

              the slip resistance is not true, it's a lie
              we used this for the first time today, and we had over 10 falls, slipping on the roof. roof is 6 to 12 pitch. .this is some of the worst for slipping. we built a catch rail before going up. We used a silver type the day before, and it is VERY grippy. ..5 different types of shoes or boots today, everybody had slips and falls. Conditions were sunny, no precipitation, mid temps., Save yourself and your people, buy something else

                    Tri Flex is a fantastic underlay for shingles or metal roofs. It's very tough, and if you have to wait on your shingles to be delivered the UV rays don't harm it if it is several months before final roofing can be installed.
