1 Network and 1 Coax Combination Wall Plate - Ivory is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't believe this was meant for data I bought this to test it, hoping for an easy hookup for an in-wall ethernet network I've been planning for a while. Unfortunately, this is pure false advertisement. It only works as a 10-baseT half-duplex network jack, and it doesn't work well as that. I tested with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a; the higher quality of cabling used, the worse the connectivity became in terms of error packets and overall speed. The back of the jack is color-coded for 4 line or PBX-type phone systems; RJ45 did see use for that purpose, and still does today. If you were redoing an office that used an older phone system with phones that required RJ-45 cabling and you also needed a F-jack in the room, I'd recommend this for that particular purpose. However, considering that 802.11B WiFi (the stuff from 10 years ago) is faster when it comes to network performance, I couldn't recommend this as a network connector. I'll be taking it back and getting myself some proper punchdown-type jacks so I can at least scavenge the network cables I sacrificed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Better off getting other option Pro: Coax works great Cons: Use of screws for rj45 terminals, I thought this would be a plus because I don't have a decent punch down tool, ah nope. Network wires a much thinner than phone wire, they will break in the screw terminals. After various attempts I could not get the rj45 to work at all, I ended up using a keystone style wallplate. I now prefer putting a plug on the wall wire and using a keystone coupler. More expensive to buy but time spent it is cheaper. The color coding is poor

Rated 2 out of 5 by from you have to wire the ethernet port on the back The ethernet port is not pass-thru, so you have to wire it yourself, which people hardly do these days. Otherwise, it's a good product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy - ethernet cable doesn't connect properly with connectors in the plate If you can get over the annoyances of being an old screw terminal type on the back where each pair of ethernet wires need screwing to the terminals and the fact the color coding is non-standard making connecting it up a real pain, then you still shouldn't buy this low quality plate. The actual female ethernet socket on the plate doesn't line up with the hole properly leading to only short periods of connectivity. Should've been dissuaded by the fact GE made it - lesson learnt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not Buy The international standard for color-coding RJ-45 cables has existed for decades. Why GE chose not to follow it is anyone's guess. The screw terminals are also a pain. Invest in the Keystone punch style outlets. And if you're even thinking about installing ethernet wall outlets, get a wire stripper that will handle 26ga braided wire. You will thank yourself. Most Home Depots will have exactly what you need hanging next to these outlet covers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good value excellent quality-- wires are not color coded just numbered wires are not color coded they are just numbered and the numbers were very small and hard to identify

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not CAT6 certified Although the jack is compatible with CAT5, 5e, and 6 it is not certified for CAT6 performance. This is based on my question regarding CAT6 (I cannot write about CAT5 or 5e since my question was specifically regarding CAT6) and the good information provided by the manufacturer. While it is true that the jack accepts these cable connectors (since they are interchangeable), it does not mean that it will provide the performance. My point is, if you have invested in CAT6 cabling it would be good to use connectors and jacks and routers and switches that can perform at the same level. Otherwise you are wasting your money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Out dated this wall plate uses screw terminals and its difficult to terminate the Cat5 to it without struggle (for me at least) i found it much easier to terminate using the newer keystone punch down style jacks. I wouldn't recommend this unless you have experience terminating with screw terminals, and maybe that's why it didn't work well for me as this was my first time terminating Cat5 with screw terminals - i didn't like it
