America’s Most Reliable Brand of Traditional Appliances

We put simplicity and durability first to give you easy-to-use appliances that give you time for those who really matter.

The appliance is ready to use, installed in a modern kitchen

Trusted, Tried, and Traditional

Since 1905, GE Appliances have provided families with appliances that are easy-to-use while introducing features that simplify their day-to-day routine.

Two cups sit next to each other after running through separate cycles. The normal-dry cup still has water droplets, but the dry boosted cup is dry.

Completely dry dishes with Dry Boost

Get hard-to-dry items up to 3 times drier than a standard heated dry with this specialized dry cycle.

Someone loads glass and plastic bottles into their dishwasher. The bottle jets gently clamp the exterior and the nozzles go in the bottle’s interior.

Wash Bottles and Tall Items Easily

Four dedicated bottle wash jets in the upper rack shower water deep inside hard-to-reach areas for thorough cleaning.

The third rack is pulled out, revealing a variety of dishware and utensils.

Do More With Every Wash

Clean an entire flatware collection, knives and small utensils with an additional third rack at the top of the dishwasher.

The inside of the dishwasher steams, cleaning the white and blue plates inside.

Deep Cleaning, No Pre-Rinse Required

Steam prewash loosens tough soils before any cycle, virtually eliminating the need for soaking or pre-rinsing dishes.

A hand pulls clean plates out of the dishwasher after a completed 1 hour cycle. All dirt and food has been completely washed from the plates.

Always Have Clean Dishes on Hand

Enjoy a quality clean when you’re short on time with a one-hour quick-wash cycle.

Smooth-Glide Upper Rack

Loading and unloading is smooth and simple with a rack that extends on ball bearings.

Piranha Hard Food Disposer

This stainless steel blade rotates at 3,600 RPM, pulverizing food particles and preventing dishwasher clogs.

Automatically tailor your cycle to the load’s soil level, maximizing energy savings while ensuring clean dishes.

16-Place Setting Capacity

Easily clean dishes after gatherings with extra capacity that holds up to sixteen place settings.

Answer

Hi there, thanks for your question! So long as the height from the floor to the underside of the countertop is within the range shown in the installation instructions and Quick Specs, the unit will be able to fit into that location, barring that the other cutout dimensions are met as well. All dishwasher brands since the early 60s are designed to go in a 24" space and are adjustable from 34" to 35" high (ADA compliant models can adjust lower). Hope this is helpful! Stay safe. -Michael@GEA

brand new dishwasher. only a week old. does anyone else's dishwasher smell like burning rubber in the dry cycle? ours does

Asked by Maca March 26, 2021

Answer

Hello there, we're sorry about the smell your dishwasher is making. We know how worrisome this is for you so we're happy to help. We recommend the following: 1) Check for packing material on the heating element. 2) Also, remove lower rack and check for something laying against the black heating element. Sometimes plastic articles can fall on the element. They will get hot and melt. Clean the item off the element and it will be ok to use again. Make sure the heating element is cool before touching it. To remove plastic from the dishwasher Calrod® element on Electronic Models: 1) Reset the dishwasher control by pressing the "Reset" pad if the dishwasher is not already off. 2) Wait approximately 30 minutes for the heating element to cool down. 3) Open the door and remove the lower rack. Scrape the plastic off with a non-metallic object such as a wooden spoon. Use caution when scraping. We hope this helps! We're glad to have you in our GE Appliances family. - Guy@GEA

Hi Johnny, thanks for contacting us. You will most likely not have enough room to operate the controls once the door is closed. However, the cycle may be selected with the door in the open position. The cycle will not start until the Start pad is pushed and the door is closed within 4 seconds. We hope this helps! - Guy@GEA

Sleek looking
The dishwasher has a wonderful fit and look to our kitchen. Dishes are super clean, come out dry and the unit is very quiet. The controls are very easy to understand. The handle is a great place to hang an extra towel.

Incredibly quiet!
So far this dishwasher has been fantastic. It is so quiet that I have actually checked to see if it was running several times. I like the third rack and all the cycle options. And, it’s beautiful!

Great Dishwasher, but it might cost me thousands in water damage...
We purchased this Dishwasher in December of 2019. Loved it. It washes great, the sanitize feature is amazing, and dishes came out clean 98% of the time. Fast forward to today March 7, 2021. We noticed an unexplainable puddle about a foot from the base of our counter cabinets, and that is about 2 feet away from the base of the dishwasher. Upon closer inspection, we find water staining at the floorboards of the counter/cabinet indicating exposure to water for a very long time. We never noticed this before because we never had a reason to look. We look around and find that the base of the counter/cabinets that are within 6 feet of the dishwasher (on both sides) have water staining. We pull back on the floorboards and now water is leaking and a bigger puddle is forming. After pulling out the dishwasher there is a standing puddle of water beneath it. When we run it, there is a continuous flow of water originating from some white part at the back of the unit. I don't know how much damage there is under my cabinets. The product is defective. It might have been defective the day it was installed.

Poor
Replaced our GDT655SGJ0BB with a GDT665SMN3ES Our original washer was the best we had ever had. It was quite and cleaned everything impeccably. The new washer is loud and does a poor job cleaning. Very disappointing.

Wet interior walls
The dishwasher washes and dries my dishes just fine. I use the normal setting with dry boost on high and my wash zones are on both upper and lower. The problem is the dishwasher tub walls are covered in water droplets that takes hours to dry with the door opened. I use rinse aid and have tried many different settings but the tub walls always are wet even though the dishes are clean and dry. With so much moisture left in the tub I am concerned about how unsanitary it is.
by Jammie R
Response from GE_AppliancesFeb 19, 2021
Hello Jammie R - Thanks for your review. We can certainly understand your concern about the dishwasher tub walls being wet. It is normal for the walls to be wet, even if the dishes themselves are dry. Older dishwashers had powerful heaters that supper-heated the dishwasher tub. Newer, more efficient units don't have the powerful heating element, but instead increase the heat of the water and employ fans that do a great job drying dishes. They just don't dry all the walls too. It is clean water, and will evaporate eventually. Leaving the door unlocked after the completion of washing and drying will assure the water left on interior evaporates. You do not need to leave the door open fully but just unlatched. We hope this helps. Olga@GEA
