Hello me, We appreciate you reaching out. Great question. According to page 5 of the installation instructions, the water supply line may enter from either side, rear or floor of the shaded area. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/4f/4f2fa7ff-4539-4703-a84a-85cd9bce6c4a.pdf. DOES THE GE DISHWASHER HAVE AN ACTUAL HEATING UNIT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB?

Asked by INQUISITIVE June 17, 2020

Hi - Thanks for considering GE! Yes, the dishwasher has a 4-Pass Multi-Wattage Wash and Dry Element. Also, dishes dry quickly and efficiently with a fan that extracts moisture from the interior. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

Does the third rack decrease the capacity for larger dishes or platters

Asked by Bert April 26, 2020
1
Answer

Hi Bert - With the upper rack in the lower position, there is approximately 9” of clearance under the 3rd rack. With the rack in the upper position, there is approximately 7” of clearance. These are clearances down the outside tine areas, not the middle. The middle is about an inch less as the 3rd rack is lower in that area. The 3rd rack tray is also removable for more clearance. Does anyone have a problem with the door not shutting and staying? Mine keeps popping open.

Asked by LR December 26, 2019

Answers

Hello LR - Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your dishwasher. We are sorry to hear that the door not shutting properly; we are glad to assist. If the dishwasher door will not close or latch properly, check the installation of the dishwasher. If the door is hitting the cabinet, it will not close properly and could result in leaking. The dishwasher must be aligned in the cabinet so it does not interfere with the closing of the door. Make sure the dishwasher is leveled. If the dishwasher was not installed correctly, we suggest that you contact the installer or refer to your Installation Instructions to reinstall. Make sure the upper rack is in the correct position. The rack is adjustable up or down 2" but should not be raised or lowered on one side only. If the rack is not level, it will not push in all the way. This prevents the door from closing all the way. We hope your find this information helpful. Thanks for checking. Olga

Worst dishwasher ever
Bought this with high hopes and have been remorseful ever since. The middle arm extension broke less than 2 months after purchase. The soap dispenser doesn’t dispense all the soap and leaves soap which gets hard after dishes dry. Will not purchase this brand again. Parts are unavailable.

Faulty door design
This dishwasher cleans beautiful. Dishes sparkle every time. My problem comes from the design, there are not enough rods for the plates and so my square dishes fall sideways and get hit by the spinning water sprayer. But my biggest problem is the door. GE put a cheap piece of plastic trim on the edge of the control panel. It came off 3 times while under warranty! It makes it so the door doesn’t shut right and we have to hold it closed to get the cycle to keep running. We traveled to family and I was surprised to see 2 different family members with the same dishwasher, also missing the trim!! Seriously faulty design. Not what you expect from GE.

3 years in. Worst appliance I've ever owned. Bought the HD coverage and have been repeatedly let down.
My wife and I purchased this in 2017. We bought the extended service plan and paid for installation. Over the next year it worked without issue. In 2018 it began to have issues. It was not draining. turns out it was leaking water out underneath, which we later (a year later) found out gallons of water were under our waterproofing laminate for the hardwood floors. They repaired this. Dishwasher was down for about a week. At this time the front door was sagging. repair person said it wasn't bad enough yet for the warranty to cover it. Time goes on and door gets worse and now the top control panel begins to come unadhered to the top. The chrome cracks and becomes sharp. The unit then has a problem draining. Repair person comes out, diagnosis draining issues. says nothing else is covered, but then decides it is. They ordered parts and then returned a few days later to install. He had ordered the wrong top panel, but that did stop him. He asked my wife to hold it in place for him while he banged on it. Breaking all the clips. The dishwasher at this point too was no longer dissolving the tabs fully. He advised it was because the water is too hot and we should turn it down. He taped the piece he broke and said, "I do my best, clear tape will work" and then left. This week we called again and were told that its because the water isn't hot enough. we were denied repair for the control panel (which leaks water through it when the door is down), the problem not dissolving tablets and the sagging door. I spent $1000 which was the most I've ever spent on a dishwasher. Never buying GE again and have no plans in using Home Depot services again.

Broken silverware basket
Nice and quiet and fits in beautifully but quality of the plastic is not good. Each of the baskets seem to have a broken piece of mesh such that silverware falls through.

Control panel trim
The only issue, I have with this dishwasher is the decorative trim piece that goes over the control panel. The teeth keep breaking off, so it doesn’t fit properly! I’ve had it, just over a year and the appliance guys have come 4-5 times, replace it and it continues to happen! Poor design for sure!!

Does not drain properly
Overall poor quality. Never properly cleaned dishes or drained water. Dishes smell bad and food left on dishes after wash. Water never drains water completely. Low water pressure. Very dissatisfied

Leaks from the Vent.
Don’t buy this dishwasher. The vent inside the door is a faulty design and leaks. The vent cap does not properly seal.

Doesn’t live up to expectations
Have had this set of appliances for about a year now and feel that I’ve owned it long enough to give a fair review. It looks amazing but the quality is lacking. There are parts in the dishwasher that bend or break fairly easily. Specifically the tines and cheap plastic piece on the outside above the handle. The dishwasher takes forever to go through a cycle. Normal cycle is 2 hrs long and a heavy wash is almost 3 hours. That seems excessive to me, even though the end result is good. Another bad part is jet dry portion. Cannot tell when it’s full as the window is too small.

Door leaks.
The door leaks!!! There is a vent/cap that always comes out. Plastic screw on. CheP and poor design. Do not buy!!
