Hello me, thank you for coming to us for help. We're sorry your dishwasher won't start. We can imagine just how frustrating this is for you so we're happy to help. First, make sure the Control Lock feature is turned "OFF". Next, make sure there is nothing preventing the door from closing securely. Lastly, make sure Delay Start isn't turned on and try resetting the controls by disconnecting power to the unit for 2-3 minutes. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

I’ve run two cycles with dry boost normal and dishes still soaked. Am I doing something wrong?

Asked by Russell February 20, 2021

Answer

Hey Russell, thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. No, you aren't doing anything wrong. We're sorry your dishwasher isn't drying as it should. We can imagine your frustration so we'll be happy to assist you. We recommend viewing some troubleshooting tips here: 1) Water entering the dishwasher should be between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit for best wash and dry performance. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to purge cold water from the hot water line. 2) Make sure that dishes are not touching. Fancy cookware can also keep dishes from drying properly. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this helps! - Guy@GEA

This is a beautiful machine with many, many features. However, it takes an enormous amount of time to use those features. This thing is just plain slow. Our previous machine would wash and dry in about an hour. A 1 hour cycle on this machine is a poor wash and the dishes are soaking wet. To use the enhanced heat, drying, and bottle jets at the same time, you are looking at (I am not embellishing) a FOUR hour run. If you have a family and do more than a load of dishes a day, this is definitely not for you. Four hours. I should have read more before buying this. Now, if you use all these features you will have the cleanest dishes on earth. The plus side is that it all works very well. But don't be in a rush.

Hi there, thanks for your review. We're happy to have you as part of the GE Appliances family! We love to hear that this is a beautiful dishwasher and that it works well with all of the features. We're sorry that these features add more time than you expected to the cycle. We see how this can be frustrating since you normally do more than one load of dishes in a day. This dishwasher was purchased as a replacement for our Kitchen Aid that had ceased to operate correctly. It seemed like a good washer and had good reviews. As it was removed from the box, the reason for the repeated written warning not to push on the front door became very obvious. The warning states that "DO not push against front panel with knees. Damage will occur." We would suggest putting the warning, "Do not ever touch the front panel or damage will occur"...it is that flimsy!.This is because the metal on the front door is paper thin. Every time I open the door, I fear I will ruin the dishwasher. Installation was a nightmare. My husband is a Certified Building Contractor and he has never seen such poorly designed installation methods. First, our old washer was able to receive the water and electrical lines from about midway through the cabinet. Not the GE. It can only receive the lines in a small 4"x6" void in the rear bottom and even that has possible interference points during installation. So, new holes had to be drilled in the cabinet. This washer has four screw-on leveling legs, one of which came screwed on at a noticeable angle we presume by a bent mounting rail. The previous washer had wheels as back legs making pushing it in the slot easy. Also, the right rear leveling leg of the GE cannot be accessed once pushed into place. The GE top brackets to secure it to the countertop, were no where near the grid to screw it in and could not be used. GE instructed that the washer could also be secured by placing screws into the side. This somewhat worked but care had to be taken to not change the shape of the tub. Also, the provided hole for the screw was no where near the cabinetry 3/4" front frame. The finishing rubber trim pieces were not able to be used because it was impossible to install because the thickness of the metal (2 layers at the top flange and 3 layers at part of the the sides) was too thick to receive the plastic. Finally when we carefully removed the blue tape GE placed over the edges of the door to protect it from scratches during installation (we presume), a big chuck of paint came off. The machine washes fine, but we fear it won't last long.

I received this dishwasher with the scoop handle and was so dissappointed in the quality of the product. After 45 mins on the phone with Home Depot I was unable to return so now I’m stuck. The front depressed when barely touched. It’s almost like a thin piece of sheet metal with no reinforcement so I’m sure the moment my child rams a chair into it there will be a dent. The drawers feel very flimsy and don’t pull out smoothly. IT’S SO LOUD!!! I’ve ran 1 cycle so far which was 151 mins. My dishes were clean so that’s the only plus. Overall it looks ok but don’t touch it. I don’t have high hopes for the lifespan of this product.

The dishwasher was easy to install and is relatively quiet when in use. It thoroughly cleans the dishes and works finer than our previous model. It has been a little over a month since we've had it, and the mounting bracket of the top rack came loose and fell off; causing the top rack to be ineffectual. It appears that the bracket is pressed into the side wall of the dishwasher; not screwed in or attached with rivets. We have submitted a service request, and it has been two weeks out. Overall, we did not expect this kind of a poor quality from a GE product.
