- New dishwasher connection kit
- Water supply line (shutoff) within 6 ft. of hook up
- Electrical outlet within 6 ft. of hook up
- The rough cabinet opening must be at least: 24" W X 24" D X 34–1/2" H
- Measure your rough cabinet opening
- Verify your existing electrical and water connections
- Empty and unplug your old dishwasher

Asked by choking March 14, 2021Hello there, thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We are very sorry about the odor you've been experiencing with your dishwasher. We know this must get aggravating so we're happy to help. First, we suggest removing the lower rack and checking for something laying against the black heating element. Sometimes plastic articles can fall on the element. They will get hot and melt. Clean the item off the element and it will be ok to use again. Also, make sure the heating element is cool before touching it. You said you already checked the unit so if this doesn't help, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). Because the dishwasher was purchased less than a year ago, this service trip will be free of charge under the warranty. We hope this is more helpful. We're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
What is the door made of will a magnet stick to it?

Asked by Frankie March 9, 2021Hey Frankie, thanks for reaching out. Depending on your cabinet installation, you may not be able to access the control panel when the door is shut. However, you can make all your selections and start the dishwasher with it open. The cycle may be selected with the door in the open position. The cycle will not start until the Start pad is pushed and the door is closed within 4 seconds. We hope this information helps ease your mind! - Guy@GEA

This prevents potential overflows for greater peace of mind. It works by using a water leak detector to sense when water is too high, pumping it out until a safe level is reached.
