Installation of Product
The Disposal is very quiet for a 3/4hp motor. The instructions recommend not using plumbers putty. This is probably accurate if you have a flush mount sink. Our sink has a flange ring. Needless to say I had to use plumbers putty to get a seal that didn't leak. Make sure that you connect the discharge pipe before you mount the Disposal. I dropped a screw into the plastic housing and had to remove it and get the gasket set screw out. The Disposal also does not come with a strain relief grommet for the power cord. It an additional trip to the hardware store was required for this additional part. It would have been nice if a rubber grommet was provided for the mounting of the power cord.

Poor Execution
Really can't say anything negative about the quality and seems like it is priced for value, however the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Everything went well until I tried to mount under the sink. GE decided to do their own thing with the mounting assembly design...what a cluster! I worked for at least 30 minutes trying to get the mounting tabs to engage with the mounting ring but it wasn't happening no matter the amount of upward force exerted. Returned and exchanged for an Insinkerator Badger 900 which was super easy to install. Would have saved me a few hours had a gone with this one in the first place.

Too early to decide
Though I thought the instructions were clear, my plumber had trouble with the sink flange and found the easy mount was not that that easy to actually mount. The product is much quieter than the decade old Kenmore and makes short work of small scraps. Makes an odd high pitch sound when it is about done, but seems OK.

Looks Good
Installation took less than 45 min, that time includes removing my old disposal, very easy for the DIY person. I have not had an opportunity use it but a couple of days so I am limited to information on how well it works over time, it is quiet.
