Questions & Answers

is the oven lock latch only for self-clean mode?

Asked by Mari February 9, 2021

Hi Mari, thanks for your question! Yes, the oven locking mechanism is only for use when you're wanting to use the Self Clean cycle. - The Self Clean cycle will run for about 3 - 4 hours. It can take between 30 and 90 minutes for the oven to cool down after a self cleaning cycle. The lock light and clean lights may remain on during this time. If you'd like to read more about the Self Clean cycle, you can see an article on our website titled "WALL OVEN OR RANGE - TIPS FOR SELF CLEAN." Hope this helps! Stay safe. -Michael@GEA

Can I easily remove the unused control panel? The reason I want front-controls is to maintain a f...

Asked by DiagonalDeckGuy November 22, 2018

Hi DiagonalDeckGuy- While the upper part of the control panel can be removed, the range has a one-piece, upswept cooktop so the lower portion is part of the cooktop and not removable. Also, we cannot recommend altering, redesigning, or modifying an appliance, part, or accessory. Our products are designed, tested and manufactured to specific specifications. On new products, we offer a warranty based on these specifications, so any modification may void this warranty. We suggest GE® 30" Slide-In Electric Convection Range JS760DLBB. Keep in touch! There are no good features on this model.
There is no clock, no timer, no presets of any kind. If you want a basement bargain range, then this is the one for you I live in a handicap unit in the apt complex and this is what we get. I guess we’re all blind and don’t need clocks or timers, presets, etc. other units got nice ranges with clocks, timers and all the bells and whistles..

Easy operation
Love the old school controls, Simple, fool proof, and easy to use.

good for handicap in chair
It is good for handicap to reach knobs. We were happy with the stove except the sides were not faced with the same panels as the rest of the stove. All that was done was the metal panels on the sides were painted white. So if its going to stand alone it will look like it was not completely finished off. I could have saved hundreds of dollars if I bought a drop in stove and had the sides painted white.

I like the stove so far but a minor electrical fault prevents a good rating. The oven heating light sometime lights up dimly when the oven is not in use. A second repair trip to my house is needed as it was not fixed the first time.

stove top
Has 2 sizes of burners. 2 bigger, 2 smaller. *** The larger 2 are not very big.*** Are a lot smaller than ones I am used to on ranges. You would think w/ only 4 burners, there would be enough room for the bigger burners to be bigger. At least 1 or the 2. Yes, there is plenty of room for burners to be bigger than they are. Find this to be a big negative. Would have ordered a different range if this had been obvious in the photos.
