Q:This fan will be installed against an exterior wall. Can it be vented to the outside (90 degree bend in venting)? I cannot vent out the top.

A:  Hi there - thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We checked the installation instructions for this model, and we can confirm that you are able to vent the hood through the rear wall.                 We replaced a Whirlpool Hood with this good looking GE Hood. We needed a carpenter for the installation. The old one had a 6 “ duct and the new GE has an 8” duct which is more efficient! Even on high it is not nearly as noisy as the old one. You’ll hear it less on medium and hardly at all on low. The 15 minute delay auto shutoff is a useful feature. The remote is convenient. And the light has 2 levels too. Finally I can really see what I’m cooking! We are pleased with this Hood! Tip: Be sure to measure correctly from the desired wall mount height to your ceiling and order the one with the correct size snorkel. We ordered for 9 foot ceiling and had to raise the mount to avoid ordering a new hood duct snorkel to close a gap. We added cherry to match our cabinets and it looks fine. Our old one was mounted right above the tile.

                    Quite and effective.
                    Easily pulls and pushes out cooking smells and cooking smoke. Two lights match cooktop surface and give great food color accuracy. Overall much better than a microwave hood.

                        Do not buy this product!
                        After searching for the correct size and look, we purchased this product. Unfortunately, I did not see the CFM rating. The only way this 350CFM fan will take smoke out of your kitchen, if it is 12 inches above the stove, no cross breeze, and another fan blowing up intto it. Yeah, looks nice, but collects more grease on the topof unit than in the filters! What a waste of almost $600 after tax and shipping!! I staged the photo with high heat and a bit of olive oil. With the fan on high(VERY NOISY) it didn't even deaw up enougj smoke to keep my smoke alarms from sounding. Utterly uselss and a waste of money!

                          Functional and quiet
                          So hard to find a hood that works and it’s not that noisy. But we found the one. It’s perfect for the size of my kitchen. Pretty quiet but it works
