Is the cook top flush with the sides of the range or does it overlap the countertop like other slide-in ranges?
Asked by: Kabo
It does not overlap (I was unhappy to discover...why do they call it a slide-in?). It is flush with the sides.

Is the total depth 25.875 in, including the handle? This is less than previous slide-in models from GE (including handle). I want to make sure because I have a depth constrained situation.
Asked by: CP
The specifications of this model indicate a depth of 28.875 in, not 25.875 in

5.3 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Black Stainless Steel, Fingerprint Resistant is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 911.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from If I could give no stars, I would I decided to treat myself to an "upgrade" from my current range. Worst. Decision. Ever. This range has not lived up to my expectations. I just lived with the problems - the burners would not turn down (temperature stayed high - seemed to be no "simmer" option), and the oven temperature kept running consistently 100 degrees higher than set. I understand that temperature fluctuates in an oven - but not THAT much. I literally had to use a separate oven thermometer and started adjusting my cook temperatures down 75 - 100 degrees to not burn everything. Then I ran the "self clean". Now the oven won't heat above 143 degrees, so I filed a warranty claim. This has been the WORST EXPERIENCE I have had the displeasure of having. It has been 4 weeks now and I still don't have a functioning oven. GE used to sell quality appliances, but that seems to no longer be the case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY After a lot of research, I replaced a 25-year-old range with this one. I was excited to finally have what I thought would be a good quality range. I cook most every day for my family, and bake twice a week. I enjoyed the convection feature. I did struggle with the glass top, it shows scratches and stains after every use and required daily cleaning to look presentable. The worst part -- LESS THAN 8 MONTHS after buying, the oven and broiler failed!! It has been sitting for weeks waiting for repairs. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. I do not plan on buying GE again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Only have had this appliance for less then a month. So far things are going well, still getting used to adjusting to the heat on surface. Looks nice feels quite sturdy which is a plus for me. Most other ovens had very flimsy cheap feeling knobs and drawers felt like they were going to fall of this one everything is firm and sturdy! Be careful with what you cook with though because it appears I may have some how already scratched a tiny spot on the front left burner. Be mindful of enamel coating and cast iron pans. I’m an avid cook and love my cast iron and enamel coated Dutch oven I just have to try and lift the heavy pans to slide food around vs just moving back and forth on burner. That would be the only downfall for me because I have issues with the strength in my hands and this is very difficult for me to do but can’t stand electric burners so something I just have to live with unless we convert to gas in the future.

After a lot of research, I replaced a 25-year-old range with this one. I was excited to finally have what I thought would be a good quality range. I cook most every day for my family, and bake twice a week. Home Depot installation crew were prompt and polite. I enjoyed the convection feature. I did find the glass top difficult to clean, but was slowly getting the hang of it. And then, LESS THAN 8 MONTHS after buying, the oven and broiler stopped working!! I contacted GE Warranty service, and after a week, the appliance repairperson came out and took a look. They could not fix it and said they had to order a part from the factory (WB26X29468 - Cooling Fan). They then said GE was unable to tell them when the part would arrive. I wrote to GE customer service, to ask if they could expedite the part, as I was very unhappy that my BRAND NEW oven had failed less than a year out. I received a one sentence reply: "Warranty parts cannot be expedited." No acknowledgement of a customer being unhappy, no apology for their drawn out warranty "service". So I have a broken oven that will be sitting for weeks, until GE decides if they are able to supply this item and if the repair company can manage to fit it into their schedule. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT, and especially poor customer service. I do not plan on buying GE again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very small surface space We had a GE flat surface for over 20 years that we loved. We were very disappointed in surface space on the new one. After putting a large pan or pot on the largest burner, it hits the front of the oven where the knobs are. It looks bigger than it actually can hold and the knobs an obstruction. The clock is now facing upward where before it was in front so it's useless unless your are right by the oven. The back fan vent structure is elevation now which stops you from pushing the pot all the way to the wall. The control panel took away a lot of space from the cooking surface. Wish we could go back to the old.

This is by far the worst stove I have ever owned. It is a nightmare to keep clean and I can't seem to cook on it even though I have been cooking 50 years on both gas and electric. It's like the oven has a mind of its own. It either takes forever to heat or it nearly burns the food. I purchased an oven thermometer and that didn't help. It shows close to what the oven is set at. I have no idea what to do to make this stove work for me. You can't use most all of your cookware. I had to go out and spend $300 on a set of stainless steel cookware and can't use any of my old favorites. I have only used this stove 5 times since I bought it. We decided eating out was easier than trying to cook on it. If I could find someone who would give me what I have in it, I would definitely get rid of it! Don't waste you money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Cooking in Years My GE Profile oven quit working and I looked for the owner's manual. I was surprised to find that it was 25 years old! After reading reviews and talking with folks in the appliance department of several stores, I chose to replace with another GE. GE has the lowest rate of customer complains or repairs, receives customer reviews of 4+ stars, and is reasonably priced with excellent features. How could I go wrong? The difference in the taste of foods was surprising. Everything cooks so much better. Temperatures are even. It all tastes better and I'm so pleased with this purchase! I highly recommend!
