Gas Stove
Excessive heat loss when the oven is use. The Salt and Pepper shakers on top of stove are almost to hot to pick up.
by Gsimpicc
Response from GE_AppliancesFeb 15, 2021
Hi Gsimpicc - Thanks for sharing your concern and giving us a chance to help. It is normal for a cooking surface to be warm, or even hot to the touch when cooking. If the cooktop is too hot and you've been cooking in the oven, this can be a normal occurrence. On slide-in ranges, such as your model, the oven vents at the back of the cooktop through the vent strip. Hot air is directed across the cooktop surface. We hope you find this information helpful. Best wishes! - Sharon@GEA

Love our new gas range
We bought this model because we wanted the built-in look with the knobs on the stovetop. Our kitchen is small and we kept bumping into the knobs turning the gas on by accident. This solved that problem and it looks fantastic. The griddle and the different size burners are a great feature too.

Response from GE AppliancesJan 20, 2021
Hi MLPP, thank you for taking the time to share your review and for choosing a GE gas range and convection microwave for your home. We are very sorry to hear of the problems you have had with the range and microwave controls being too hot and the steam-clean feature not working, as well as the issues you have had with cleaning the range surfaces and oven door. We can understand your frustration in this and are happy to offer you some guidance in this. You can find helpful tips and guidance on performing a steam clean cycle within this support article: You can also find guidance on cleaning between the oven door glass here: For cleaning smudges on stainless steel surfaces, please refer to page 17 of your Use and Care Manual. - Regarding the heating issues, it is normal for a cooking surface to be warm, or even hot to the touch when cooking in the oven. Your microwave vent system should properly remove most heat and steam from the cooktop, and turning your microwave vent on high will help with this. However, excessive heat may be caused by blocked air vents or improper venting connections. For further assistance with this, please visit the following link and scroll down to the email contact form: Please include a copy of your review, your name, address, phone number and the model and serial numbers for your appliance. We hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA
