A:  I think you will be ok with using it as a permanent fix for shop lamps. I have used it in my dorm for a permanent situation for my refrigerator, no issues.

A:  Yes this is a well-made permanent type extension cord that should hold up for years with no problems

A:  You can plug it into outlet permanently. I have this plugged into outlet in garage for entire winter to prevent water pipes from freezing.

A:  This cord would be more than adequate I have had to use this with my battery charger and I have never had a problem with extension cord overheating
