AnswersI do not believe that it is required, however it would have to be removed to do what you are suggesting and I do not think that you could use the top outlet anyway because the top of this unit would block it.

The outside is a very sturdy material and easy to manage as you plug the gadget into the outlet. Overall a very good plug adapter that works very well perfect for my kitchen area that lacks outlets.

A great way to add four outlets to a two outlet fixture. Because the plugs are plugged in parallel to the wall it takes up much less space than the traditional 6-outlet adapter. The only drawback is that power bricks cannot be used in the center outlets.

I have not experienced any issues and everything works great. No more having to route extension cords around or have a big bulky box sitting around.

Compact against the wall with 6 plugins.Becomes a instant space saver at family gatherings where you need to plug in all those crockpots and never seem to have enough plug outlets to do so. It is nice and compact and the side design makes it easier to get all things plugged in, including those bulkier plugs.
