Questions & Answers

can you get a middle grate for cooking pots?

I do not use the griddle much. I need the grate for a Dutch oven pot. the order model had both the grate and griddle. most people cook more often with pots instead of the griddle.
Asked by: foghorns
Bought mine in New York. The sales person was helpful and knowledgeable - the sign on the appliance clearly stated that a center grate (JXGRATE1D.D.(1001-666-769) was available for $49.

how do I down load an owners manuel
Asked by: janedoe
Above all else, Do NOT call the number that GE provides ostensibly to receive the printed manual, you will never get anyone picking up that line. Do NOT call GE customer service either, they'll refer you back to the non answered number, and get really rude and condescending when you let them know they are incorrect. But, I digress, go to the website and download one. Home Depot printed out one for me to keep me from returning it after the fiasco with GE. But, now that it's impossible to get mine to work with no instructions, and wrong parts, it's going back. Home Depot may still get a sale, but it will NOT be a GE product.

Once and for all, does stove come with both griddle and grate. There are answers from GE on here stating both yes and no?

Asked by: TACO
Mine came with the griddle. I had to buy the grate separately.

Is the griddle dishwasher safe?

Asked by: TaylorG
You show the grates in a dishwasher on one of your websites. Might want too remove it .

Everything works well, the only regret is actually buying this Adora version. The front two burners (power boil) are pretty much too big for everyday cooking. The handles on my pans get way too hot - even on the lower settings. The diameter of the front two burners is just too large. One of these burner sizes would have been enough and now I'm kicking myself. It was the same price as the non-Adora line and figured I'd be getting some extras, but only power I didn't need.

HOWEVER, it has one SERIOUS FLAW. The heat vents are located on the top rim of the oven door. Recently, I was heating a pan of milk when I accidentally tipped it forward. The milk spilled down the front of the oven door and into the vent openings. This left 2 streaks between the glass layers that I cannot get to in order to clean them off. My oven door is permanently marred. [see attached photo]. Does my warrantly cover this kind of accident? Can it be repaired or replaced? The streaks are very obvious and spoil the look of your beautiful appliance.

I just finished paying for both items. I noticed small rust stains on the top of the stove, where the clock and oven controls are located. I called Home Depot and they referred me to GE. GE says I must not have cleaned the stove correctly. I disagree, I used stainless steel cleaner. No other portion of the stove has developed rust and the stainless refrigerator has no discoloration or rust spots. Clearly, this section of stainless steel is substandard. GE will not replace this piece and I have to pay $100 to get a repairman out to look at the stove. I WILL NEVER BUY GE PRODUCTS AGAIN. Stay away from this stove, stay away from GE.

The stove works well with all of the functions doing as described. The only issue is the lower draw doesn't set even when closed the gap is larger on the left side about a 1/4 in or more.

Been wanting to go back to gas and this had good ratings and has just about everything I wanted. Love the color too (slate). The oven is a tad smaller then my old electric oven, but I’m not “ miss Susie homemaker” and it gets the job done. The price was fantastic for Convection/regular Oven. Love the grill in the middle. I don’t use any (Pam) stray on it. Just butter. I find that it is easier to clean and won’t cause that sticky residue like the spray does. Loved that HD has free deliverey. That was a bonus!

I love GE kitchen appliances until I encountered this problem a year ago. I bought all new kitchen appliances (refrigerator, oven range, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher) for my new house. >2-3 weeks later, I noticed oven range light is out while i was baking. ... No probs- changed d bulb & it was ok. --A week later, d bulb is out again. Replaced again with same specifications. But busted again after few days on using the oven. >Called the service to checked for the problem. A technician came, changed the bulb, and tested all potential cause of the bulb failure (electrical outlet, circuit board) and was stated everything was fine. --After using the oven for a week, Bulb is out again! > Technician came back and changed the circuit board, bulb and tested OK. - After using the oven range again-- light is busted.... >I escalated to talk to the service eng'r/designer/manager. THIS THE FUNNY PART. .. I wanted a replacement for oven range that cost about $800... and he said NO coz the oven is fine,,,, According to him I can still cook, can still bake but only there's no working light... He said "USE A FLASHLIGHT" when u'r baking..LOL.. Its like driving a NEW LEXUS at night with no headlights, just flashLIGHT... He suggested to get a new bulb at a different hardware/home depot because that batch of bulb might be defective. - I told him d bulb that his technician used wasn't from my hardware store but still failed. .. He also suggested to try a PHILIPS BULB not GE bulb...tried but still didnt work. - He even threatened me to charge all costs for the technicians services (came 3 times) because the problem is not from GE oven.. He said it might be from my electrical outlet.. maybe surges of electricity?? and so on and so forth.--It was checked by GE technician but found not a problem. > Told him all the rest of my new GE appliances worked well except for GE oven range.. --- I stopped calling customer service because my blood pressure went higher and higher everytime I talked to him. I dont want to have a stroke from debating the customer service manager... I will just deal with baking/grilling using a flashlight than having a STROKE... -- After 1 year had passed... My wife talked to a local technician and suggested to used low VOLTAGE and low AMPERAGE bulb - from 130V/90W to 110V/60W bulb and since then THE PROBLEM WAS FIX... -- It was an easy solution... but GE service ENGINEER, TECHNICIAN, DESIGNER and MANAGER couldnt figure out... even THREATENED ME..

After using an electric range for nearly 30 years, it is great to get back to "cooking with gas"! With gas, less is always more. GE has some innovative features which include an automatic oven (oven turns off after set timer has expired) and there's a convection oven feature that automatically calculates the convection temperature. For me, the best/neatest feature is the "griddle in the middle". I've only had the stove about two weeks and have already tired making grilled cheese and reuben sandwiches, french toast and a porterhouse steak -- all of which came out great! I'm looking forward to trying grilled swordfish in the not too distant future. Stove-top cleanup is really easy + there's a self-cleaning oven (and a steam clean option) available. I haven't tried that as of yet, but is a rather novel concept! Also, after making 7 dozen wedding cookies for a bake sale, I made another batch using the new gas oven. The difference in texture -- and taste -- was amazing. I'm a happy camper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! JGB720SEJSS Pre heat in just 8 minutes, cleans up well with soap and water, power boil does exactly that in no time. Center grate shallow but grills very well. Burner cover stains easily but it is a stove. Oven cooks great. Steam clean did not work hopefully will when addressed. Easy to use panel.
