GE Advanced Silicone 2 Kitchen and Bath sealant is a high-performance, 100% silicone and 100% waterproof sealant ideal for areas prone to water exposure. GE Advanced Silicone 2 Kitchen and Bath sealant is permanently flexible with 40% more flexibility than Class 25 sealants and has 5X stronger adhesion than our Silicone 1sealant. It will not discolor most high-end metal finishes such as chrome, bronze, and nickel. This sealant also has a low odor while curing thanks to its neutral-cure formula. Its 30-minute water-ready formula offers 10-year mold-free product protection to protect against mold and mildew growth. Use our silicone kitchen and bathroom sealant on a variety of common surfaces, including most metals, plastics, and woods; glass, drywall, plaster, granite, and more.

A: Thank you for the question. In general, since we do not know if you are doing a new installation or reapplying GE Advanced Silicone 2 Clear Kitchen and Bath sealant to the area, it is important to remove any old sealant and then clean the area with a disinfectant. If mold or mildew is present, apply rubbing alcohol (even if this is a new installation). Let the area dry before applying or reapplying silicone. Do not use soap and water to clean surfaces to be sealed because silicone will not adhere to surfaces covered with any soap residues or films that may be left behind.

White turns to yellow!

Second bathroom in a row where I’m using a new tube of white GE advanced silicone in white and after curing for a day turns yellow. Have to remove and redo using a different and obvious a more superior product. Customers don’t like it when their remodel is ruined due to a simple think as a silicone joint. Fix your product!

This GE Advanced Silicone Clear Kitchen and Bath Caulk is doing a perfect job. It does everything it claims it does and it is very easy to work with. The tube is so much better for a small job and I love that you can cap it and it stays soft. Just follow the directions and you won't be disappointed. It's been a few months now and it is great! Recommend Highly!

I found that it did not dry quickly and is very gummy. When wiping the sink a month later, it still will come off. I wouldn't buy it again.

Defective.

I maintain rental properties and bought about a dozen tubes of GE Silicone II in different colors. Just tried to use some a few days ago, and it DIDN'T SET. Tried again with another tube; also DID NOT SET. Defective. Should be a class action suit.

As with all items sold through retailers, a product exhibiting an issue should be returned to the place of purchase for exchange or refund.

It's caulk. It was easy to use to install my new faucet as the instructions specified to caulk the bottom gasket to the sink surface. The only thing left would be how long does it last, if I notice any signs of early failure I'll follow up my review.
