Loud. Sounds like a forced air furnace.
Hello sidekick - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This refrigerator comes with the hinges on the right; however, the door swing can be reversed. Instructions for doing so can be found in the Installation Instructions. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
Yes. It comes with the hinge on the right (as you face it). It can be moved to the left. Be sure that the seals are "seated" after reversal. The repair man used a hair dryer to warm up the plastic seal, so that the magnets could work properly. When the door handles are flipped, the set screw is exposed. A slight cosmetic oversight by the designer. Not a functional problem, just a minor cosmetic issue.
You have to swing the freezer door out almost all the way (about 140 degrees) to get the basket out. If you can only open the door 90 degrees, you won't be able to get the basket out.
You have to order the ice maker separately along with the installation package and installation labor. If you order the fridge and don't select the ice maker (isn't always a suggested purchase) they will not install it later and will not warranty the installation.

Rolls in and out just fine. Too easy in fact. I put a piece of wood at the back to keep from accidentally rolling back against the wall. (need to keep a small gap for air circulation.
