To utilize the WiFi feature do you really need to have a hardwire to the range? Does it not have bluetooth technology?
Asked by: Sillyvieve
I just installed this stove 2 days ago and can tell you that it does not need an ethernet cable running to it. It does have the option to do so, but realistically who in the world has a hidden ethernet cable where their stove sits? It is wifi and connects to your router. It took me about 10 mins to get it connected through the app.

Sorry, sufficient detail is not there. Doesn't show where legs and structural pieces are. Doesn't show where cavities are. Photographs of the back of the unit with its cover on (if any) and off would do the trick. The site has plenty of photos of the front, the oven, the top, etc. Photos of the back would answer many installation questions and would seem to be a simple matter for the manufacturer to provide.

Cafe 5.7 cu. ft. Slide-In Smart Oven Dual Fuel Range with Self-Cleaning Convection and WiFi in Stainless Steel is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 42.

The name GE is synonymous with quality and this dual fuel range is a testament to that quality we have trusted for many generations. Just looking at this stove one can see the workmanship and attention to detail that GE puts into their appliances. The finish is flawless and the fit of the parts are precise. Truly, this unit is a nice piece for one's kitchen and is very versatile with the gas cooktop and the convection capable oven. I would like to offer some other helpful information and useful tips. Features: 1. Full grates allow for sliding pots. Very helpful while canning. 2. Large drip area for spills and is easily reachable for cleaning. 3 The griddle is a bonus and a nice feature. Easily changed or just left installed is my wife's preference. 4. 21,000 Tri burner is awesome and helpful for larger pots and quick boil. Heats to a boil amazingly fast. 5. 6 burners can handle most large meals. No waiting on an available eye. 6. Front knobs are high end and glide with precision. 7. The ovens touch screen is responsive and there are no lags. The menu is clear and planned out well. No searching for a feature. The tones are pleasant and not too loud. The settings on the control panel are well planned by GE and easy to set the oven. 8. The single oven light illuminates the oven fairly well. A dual light would of been a better feature but not a deal breaker IMO. 9. The oven is large-I mean large. The oven heats fast and even. The fast preheat is an energy efficient feature. No waiting for a tradition preheat time. I can smell that large turkey simmering on Thanksgiving day. The oven probe is a must have and is useful for a families safety. 10. The smooth gliding rack is a nice touch. Slides effortlessly. 11. The warming drawer is solid built and glides smoothly. Can be used as a storage drawer for metal pots and pans. No plastic should be stored in the drawer for safety. 12. Burn off oven before first use to clear the unit from manufacturing chemicals. This applies to all brands. Installation tips: Self experienced installers. 1. This stove is heavy. A two man job. As with most appliances, I suggest wearing gloves to avoid cuts on sharp edges. 2. Make sure to read and reread all instructions. The instructions for installation are clear and helpful for a safe and correct installation. The gas conversion instructions are included and must be followed precisely for a safe conversion. A gas professional may be needed here. I am experienced in gas, so the transition to propane went well and safely. 3. If converting to propane, follow the instructions to set the regulator to propane and change the orifices first. IMPORTANT NOTE: The regulator setting is confusing in the instructions. The valve has to be flipped and not turner counter clockwise during the propane conversion. The diagram and wording is confusing. Pay attention here. Then hook up the gas line. Make sure to include a gas shut off valve for safety. The Home Depot offers these kits when purchasing a gas stove. 4. The burner orifices are easy to changed. I recommend a magnetized tool to avoid dropping one into the pan. Go slow and easy. Hand start these orifices first to avoid stripping. They are color coded and numbered. The follow flame height adjustments. 5. The electrical plug area is tight. The measurements are important for allowing the stove to slide all the wall back. One may need to relocate the main plug as I did. I recessed it in the wall. The gas supply line needs to be as close to the wall as possible. 6. Leak check, leak check and leak check again. The most important step with any gas appliance installation. The GE gas installation kit incudes the leak check solution and instructions for identifying leaks. 7. First time lighting and settings are well illustrated and is a simple task. 8. Now, enjoy many trouble free years of your new stove! WIFI: 1. A hard wire (rj45) is required for this installation. Not wireless- which would have been more convenient and simpler to set up. 2. One may need to call their cable company to install a cable to the stove. 3. Space is limited so pull the cable up from floor at the very edge of the rear trim closest to the wall. 4. A separate sheet is included for setup. This is tedious and getting help from a tech savvy family member is needed. I am Wi-Fi challenged, so I got help from my 13 year old. Yes 13 lol. 5. An 800 number for trouble shooting is available and expect to call the number for assistance. 6. Wi-Fi is a nice feature but not a needed option for a stove IMO. The alert settings are a nice feature here. Not a deal breaker here. GE has once again produced another quality stove. I'm not surprised coming from a leader in technical innovation and having manufactured the best appliances for many decades. If it is in one's budget, I highly recommend this amazing stove that offers many features and feel it will compliment one's kitchen décor. With most GE products, they last for years as we all know. A wise choice. I am very pleased with this stove. Oh-wife is too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the oven that has the features my wife has been wanting our entire marriage! A full size, completely electric 220v oven, and a high quality gas cook top!...And boy, did GE deliver on that! Although surveys went out throughout our subdivision from the NG company, we don't have natural gas piped in yet. We do however have a large propane cylinder for our fireplace. The advantage of having a fully electric 220v oven, is I don't need to have a separate electric service line run for the oven. It's already 220v run for our previous electric oven. All we would need is to have the gas company tee off the existing fireplace line, install their regulators, and do their testing. The gas company took about 4-hours total, to complete the gas service to this oven. Prior to having the gas company do their work, I made the conversion switch from natural gas to propane. The oven comes factory equipped with the gas orifices for natural gas. On the back of the oven is a plastic bag with the propane orifices and instructions on how to make the switch-over...To include the pressure regulator. This process took me about an hour to accomplish. As a suggestion...I would strongly recommend you obtain a magnifying glass to do this. Each small orifice is stamped with the numbers you need to match up. These numbers are just stamped on the brass face, and are extremely small and had to read. Once everything was connected and working, we set about learning the features of this oven. There's really nothing we don't like about this oven. The oven racks are really nice. They are the same porcelain as the oven interior. As a result, you can leave them in the oven when you use the cleaning cycle. The bottom drawer, along with storing your pans and skillets, is also a warming drawer. Underneath the drawer is a heating element just like your broil element. This gives you your warming feature...The good thing about this feature is that you can turn it On / Off through the Control Panel, should you want to use it just for storage. You can always remove your stored items, and turn it On during Thanksgiving to warm food as well. The oven has an internal temperature probe. When needed, just connect it to the internal oven wall fitting and insert into your food. Remove, and store in drawer when not in use. The oven, in addition to your normal cleaning cycle, has a steam option as well. Simply pour the recommended (1-cup), amount of water onto the bottom of the oven, and select steam clean on the Control Panel. 30-minutes later, your oven is clean. This oven comes with a center cast iron griddle. Contrary to other reviews, this griddle is Not the reversible griddle...The reversible griddle is the $80.00 accessory option. This griddle is only one-sided for use, and is a flat top, not ribbed as the accessory option is. Overall, we are extremely happy and satisfied with our GE Cafe Dual-Fuel Slide-In Range. It is absolutely stunning in appearance, and provides us with the full benefits of a feature rich, fully electric oven, and a professional gas cook top. Highly Recommended!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome features! I bought this range about a month ago and I love it!! The features are outstanding and user friendly. This range is a beautiful focal point in our kitchen and everyone that comes over comments on how sleek it is and they have to play with all its options and are in awe how the gas instantly turns on. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because it still gives off a slight new oven smell when using the oven but it gets better I feel after each use just thought that would have gone away by now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beauty and Performance Our family is really tough on ranges, and the all electric one that came with our new house just couldn't keep up with us and died within 2 years so we've swapped it out for this one! I love the looks, it's got the semi-commercial aesthetics but with the technical features of a home unit. There are very few options for dual fuel ranges and we appreciate both the steadyness of the electric oven with the ease of use that comes with a gas cooktop. The burner grates are nice and heavy and the way they've expanded the coking surface by pushing the burners out a bit from the middle really makes the center one's very usable. I also like that the two center burners are the same rating so i can use either the griddle that comes with the range or my own. The oven heats up very quickly and the digital controls make it easy to get right where i want to be whether it's holding a smoked brisket at 180 degrees for hours or broiling fish, the oven works great (and the broiler rack is very trick! No more food sloshing around or dumped pans) My favorite feature though is the temperature probe, great for doing roasts and stews in the oven. I like being able to set it for the temperature i want and to have it turn off when done so i don't have to monitor it constantly.

I wanted to get some hands on experience before I posted a review on something that can make or break a kitchen. I must say, overall, I am very impressed with it. The build quality is excellent, the knobs are responsive and fine tuned to give you superb control over the flames of the burners. I replaced an electric slide in range with this because while I enjoyed the precision of the electric oven I did not like the electric top. The electric top is harder to control and not nearly as precise as gas. I got pretty good with it, but still never liked it. Having the best of both worlds is outstanding, and that's what you get with this range. The oven comes with a temperature probe which, after having, never want to go without again. It also has a sliding rack that is has ball bearing slides making it effortless to move in and out. It came with a griddle that fits into the middle portion of the top. I actually just leave that on the stove now because it is rare that I need 6 burners going at the same time. One of the burners is a dual ring that allows you to have both going for a very high heat for boiling water or searing and a very low heat for simmering or melting things like chocolate for instance. I have one minor gripe with this range and that is the wifi function. I realize that having wifi on a stove seems like overkill but I like the idea of telling Alexa to preheat my oven to 350 degrees with just a command. The complaint I have is that in order to use this function you have to turn it on at the stove every time. In my opinion this defeats the purpose of having it. It automatically turns the wifi off after every use. I have tried turning it on and just leaving it until the next time I want to use it but it seems to have some kind of timer function that shuts it off after a certain amount of time has elapsed. Again, this is a minor complaint and doesn't really change my opinion of this range much. Overall this is a very versatile and user friendly range that looks great and functions even better.

We replaced our old GE Cafe oven with this one. I hope we don’t miss the double oven because this one only has a warming drawer at the bottom. But you get a very large 5.6 CU. FT. Electric oven in the trade off. It also comes with a telescoping shelf that fully extends. This will allow you to basted your turkey by pulling the shelf all the way out. Lots of features like WIFi so you can control your oven with your smart phone. The knobs are metal and not some junky plastic. The griddle is reverseable so you can make pancakes on one side or put grill marks on your burger on the other side. It came natural gas but I converted it to propane. It comes with well written instructions so even a novice can do it. Don’t forget to pop off the knobs and adjust the burners. If you don’t your wife will complain that she is burning stuff at the lowest setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stove. 98% Love Love the stove. Has 6 gas burners of various sizes for lots of cooking options. Very easy control the heat. Electric oven bakes very evenly, heats fast. Warming drawer keeps food warm. Would have preferred a stove with a black enamel cook top. Not many out there. We knew the stainless steel cook top was going to be a chore to maintain. After having it for several months, it still looks great, but I spend a lot of time to ensure it stays that way. The cook top shows debris and dirt and needs to be cleaned thoroughly and frequently to keep it looking nice. It is highly to susceptible to scratching. Just like any stainless appliance, NEVER EVER use a scratch pad on it to loosen baked on spilled food! You also have to be very careful removing and replacing the heavy steel cooking grates because if they come in contact with any of the stainless steel cook top parts, they will scratch it. Except for the stainless cook top, we are VERY happy with the stove.
