Hello MB - Thank you for your question; we are glad to assist. The unicouple hose is 32" from back of unit to the unicouple. It comes out of the back near the back left corner (same place as the power cord). There is not a longer hose available. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA

Hi Sue - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your new GE portable dishwasher GSC3500DBB. We are sorry to hear the upper spray arm came loose and it leaked after the first use. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We suggest to check all hoses for leaks. Also, using the wrong type or too much detergent can cause oversudsing. Suds can push water out of the tub causing a leak. Only detergent specifically designed for automatic dishwashers such should be used. We suggest viewing page 10 of the Use and Care Manual at the following link: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/0c/0cd5b381-7169-4352-9e53-4975a623ace6.pdf - A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. You can conveniently schedule a warranty service appointment online at GEAppliances.com or call GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737); Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET; Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET. what does it mean to be a convertible dishwasher

Asked by dd December 2, 2019

Answers

A convertible dishwasher is just that. You can use it by hooking it up to the kitchen sink then wheel it out of the way. Later if you decide to redo the kitchen, you can then build it in and took it up permanently under the sink.

Since this product is out of stock, can it be ordered for a later delivery date?

How hot does the water inside get?

Asked by Curtis November 25, 2019

Answer

Hi Curtis - . The hot water supplied to the dishwasher must be between 120°F and 150°F for best wash performance. Adjust your water heater accordingly. Hot Start Option will preheat the water. Water coming into the dishwasher may be as low as 95 degrees F and this feature will help raise the temperature to the required 120 degrees F. For reference, see pages 3 and 12-13 of the Use and Care Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-31571.pdf - Thanks for your interest! I'm only recommending this because it's the only model for sale of it's type. Had the previous version for about 4 years when it finally died altogether.. this new version has considerably less space inside than the previous one. This new model has mechanical push button switches which will hopefully be more reliable than the previous digital version which had many problems throughout it's very short life of 4 years.. The main cycle switch on this model is about equivalent to a 1950s kitchen timer. So far it seems to clean the dishes adequately. Hopefully it will last a little longer than the old one...

Crap. Poor design, flimsy construction, every dish fits ackwardly, short hose and power cord, and it is SUPER loud. I am amazed that it has mechanical controls. Our last unit died after 14 years, it fit more dishes, and was quieter. I miss you. I am going to look into returning this unit. I do not recommend purchasing.

Love my new dishwasher. It is loud when running, but cleans the dishes spectacularly. I was concerned about its longevity, so purchased the extended warranty, just in case. Still was a great price. I like the food disposal that is built in. No pre rinsing dishes needed

So far so good
I've used this dishwasher about four times now. It gets the dishes very clean, especially using a rinse agent. I love the heat drying feature, and my dishes are never spotty. It's not that loud, but of course if it was installed in a counter, that would cut down some of the noise. So far no issues with hoses or any leaks. My only fear was constant water pressure to the faucet and sprayer nozzle, but I have a workaround for that. I know when the dishwasher is filling up, so I only turn the water on as needed. I never leave it unattended and use it while I do things around the house. For a normal wash cycle, it takes about 47 seconds for it to fill. It does a prewash for about four minutes, and then it drains. Then it fills again for another 41 seconds and does a wash cycle for approximately 50 minutes. Then it drains and fills for 41 seconds and does a prerinse for about 4 minutes. Then it drains again and fills for 41 seconds and rinses for 5 minutes. After each time it fills, I shut the water off and press the red pressure release button so I dont worry about blown seals or sprayer hose. After the last five minute rinse cycle, I disconnect the hose and drain whatever drops are left, usually nothing because I always use the red button to release any remaining water after each fill and the final cycle. The dry cycle takes about 45 to 50 minutes and only needs the power cord plugged in for that. Its exactly what I expected. I do roll it carefully and slowly to take care of the casters. There is a concrete weight built in for stability located very close to the ground. So use care when wheeling it around.

This appliance saved our marriage. Kinda. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating but still. My husband and I were tired of washing by hand and ending up with back pains and pruney hands. We had no idea dishwashers could be portable until we somehow saw a video for one. We had a lot of choices to choose from but decided to go with this model. Its been about a month and we loveeeee it. We got the recommended soap and rinse aid, followed the instructions, tested the temp of our water and this dishwasher has done a great iob. Ive put really dirty stuck on sauces on large pots and its cleaned them perfectly. We never considered a dishwasher because my husband didnt like them, but this one changed his mind. This has been one of the best investments we've made. And the even better part is that once we purchase a house, we can convert it to a built in dishwasher and keep using it, and I love that about this dishwasher.
