Yes, to cancel a wash, press and hold the Start button on the front for 3 seconds. Then close the door.

I think you are referring to the lights on the front that stay on when you open the door. At first I thought I should try to figure out how to shut them off. Then I realized they shut off on their own. It has become a non-issue for me.

Super Quiet Dishwasher
Super quiet dishwasher, easy installation. Great silverware rack on the door.

Nice and quiet
I like that it is quiet but I feel like it doesn’t clean as well as it should. I’m sure it’s the “energy efficient” regulations. The standard cycle is over 2 hours long. I do like how much room I have inside though.

DO NOT PURCHASE !! Purchased this dishwasher 16 months ago. Nothing but trouble. Would not purchase another GE product again!!! Does NOT clean well at all. Have to run multible times to get dishes clean. We even rinse before putting dishhes/cups in. The detergent doesn't dissolve, crystals all over contents. Tried using a different detergent, no help. Customer service is terrible. No help. They do not even service my area. Junk product! Would not even give away to someone else.

I have had my new dishwasher for almost a month and I am very pleased with it. Installation was easy, my fiancee did it himself within a couple hours. Compared to my basic level 10 year old dishwasher this one is AMAZING. I have been using the jet dry with it and for the most part everything dries very nicely, plastic containers sometimes have some moisture leftover, but nothing major that cannot be wiped away with a paper towel. I love the roomier top rack and the fact that I can change the location of the silverware basket. The only thing I have had to get used to is if I lean against the dishwasher (such as during food prep) the buttons are very sensitive and I am frequently turning the dishwasher on, thankfully it doesn't actually start to run unless you hit the start button a second time. In the future I would probably opt for getting a model with buttons not on the front, but for the cost of this model and how well it has been cleaning, I really cannot complain.

Nice looking. Easy to use. My toddler can't open or start the dishwasher so that's fantastic. Heated drying option doesn't actually dry. Used this feature a handful of times & there is a layer of water sitting ontop of every dish. My son has to dry every dish before putting them away. Left for the weekend & the empty dishwasher had a terrible wet towel smell from non-use. Unsure why. Leaving again for a few days & will see if I get the same smell.

Excellent appliance except for...
I bought for a number of reasons but I must mention how quiet this dishwasher in comparison to my 1998 model. The Slate color blends into my kitchen better than stainless steel or the new black stainless. It's beautiful! Research showed GE as a reliable product so I had no worries there. It cleans dishes, pots, pans and silverware equally well. One feature that is much appreciated is an additional bin for spatulas, whisks and other larger utensils. Definitely a "best" feature. However, the one drawback is the design of the racks, both upper and lower racks. There are so many prongs set so close together that it makes it difficult to load dishes, bowls, pots and pans of various sizes and thicknesses in an efficient manner. (see photos) Otherwise, I would have given this appliance 5 stars.

When I received my dishwasher it was missing one of the wheels on the top right side front of the drawer that pulls out. I have no idea who to call for a replacement, and I'm sure is will cost a lot of money, and then I'll have to call a repairman to fix it. Who do I call? Also, I had to buy extra parts to make the dishwasher work with my existing water hose. This is the 3rd dishwasher I have had and it's the first to not be compatible.! Even when using the recommended product "Finish" when washing dishes I still get smokey glasses? So no, I am not a happy customer and will not recommend this product, the top drawer is lop sided and acts like it wants to fall off, I had to purchase extra parts to install, and I have foggy glasses! Please tell me where I can get the roller for the top drawer, I'm stuck with a defective product, and I'm not happy! Where was the quality control team when my product was manufactured? I ordered this product during the cyber Monday promotion.I'm , adding picture of the top drawer so you can see the missing roller, and yes it was in the middle of a cycle. And speaking of cycles they take for ever to complete! The one nice thing I can say about this dishwasher is, it's extremely quite. It is way over priced for what I got!
