Questions & Answers

Does this dishwasher have HEATED dry?

I've noticed quite a few dishwashers that do not have heated dry. I can't imagine dishes dry without it.
Asked by: Jenoc
Yes, it does have that option. HOWEVER, in practice, it's not very good. When you open the door after it's all finished, there's a lot of heat, but there's still water on top of the glasses and cups. Unsatisfactory.

Front Control Dishwasher in Slate with Steam Prewash, Fingerprint Resistant is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 724.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Repair man should be here today between 9 and noon. The first installation didn't start, so the delivery company helped us to get a replacement from GE. The replacement came a couple weeks later, we were so excited... then every load... you'd take out a dish and it was dirty... then the next dish too... and the dishwasher tab didn't come out all the way or when it did it didn't dissolve--even the tabs that came complimentary with the product. There was dishwasher tab residue all over the dishes. So we tried different types of cycles to see if others would run better than the regular cycles. But no. We've spent time on the phone with the company and with Home Depot. The repair man should be here today. Worse part is that we've gone without the dishwasher for over a month now and we had a great routine down with our previous dishwasher. Not saying I can't hand wash dishes... that has become an OK routine now too, a bit hard to keep up with all of us... but come on... I would just expect a product that does what it was manufactured to do for that kind of money....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from racks are falling apart after year Well I’m at a loss . I have had the dishwasher for about 18 months . I’ve been trying to work with GE and the protection plan for the better part of this year and no luck so far. I have had 3 technicians out and they say it works - well I suspect something is off with the dryer because my racks are already rusty looking and look like they have melted in areas . I am so upset . After taking in all the suggestions of technicians I am at a point where the loads are probably working properly about 50 % of the time . GE says it’s a cosmetic problem ???? No I don’t think so ... it’s inside my washer and the corrosive areas have happened because this dishwasher is not drying right I know this . No one will help me . I’ve wasted about $400 and I can’t afford to buy a new one . I have to rewash or dry my dishes way more than I should. I have had great GE dish washers in the past and now I’m stuck because we have the slate GE fridge too. Very frustrated and will never buy GE again.

I have had my new dishwasher for almost a month and I am very pleased with it. Installation was easy, my fiancee did it himself within a couple hours. Compared to my basic level 10 year old dishwasher this one is AMAZING. I have been using the jet dry with it and for the most part everything dries very nicely, plastic containers sometimes have some moisture leftover, but nothing major that cannot be wiped away with a paper towel. I love the roomier top rack and the fact that I can change the location of the silverware basket. The only thing I have had to get used to is if I lean against the dishwasher (such as during food prep) the buttons are very sensitive and I am frequently turning the dishwasher on, thankfully it doesn't actually start to run unless you hit the start button a second time. In the future I would probably opt for getting a model with buttons not on the front, but for the cost of this model and how well it has been cleaning, I really cannot complain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cleans well, funky water connection. The dishwasher cleans very well. Because of the orientation of the incoming (plastic) connection, the dishwasher started leaking after install. It took several attempts and a visit by a plumber to get it to stop leaking. The orientation of the plastic pipe nipple is in such a place and direction that it is virtually impossible to apply any pressure to the connection. Very frustrating.
