If your unit isn't draining, the following problems might be your answer. 1) Some Dishwasher drain hoses are connected directly to your sink disposal. Sink disposals have a round tube towards the top area for one to connect the dishwasher drain hose. This tube on the disposal has an internal plug that has to be removed, when attaching the dishwasher drain hose. Some people forget to remove these plugs and think that there is something wrong with dishwasher not draining. 2) There is a valve that electronically opens and closes, when the dishwasher fills with water or drains. This valve maybe stuck or not operating at all. 3) Pump motor is not working. This is not likely, if the dishwasher is washing with the same pump motor. 4) Be sure to always run your sink disposal, before you wash a load of dishes. If the sink disposal has waste inside, the dishwasher will have trouble pumping the waste water into the disposal. This can sometimes lead to dishes and cups having grit left on them after the wash & rinse cycles.

Hi Ronald - Thanks for reaching out to regarding the soap film on your dishes. We are happy to help. In 2010, phosphates were removed from dishwashing detergents, leading to more and more homeowners finding their dishes covered in a white film (or mineral build-up) after running the dishwasher, especially in areas with particularly hard water. For best performance, choose the Hi Temp Wash and Hi Temp Rise Options. Make sure water temperature entering the dishwasher is at least 120°F (49°C). Adjust water heater accordingly. In hard water areas , use rinse agents such as Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to prevent spots and prevent new film build-up. See page 18 of the Use and Care Guide: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55114.pdf - Learn more at the following link- WHY IS THERE WHITE FILM ON MY DISHES? https://www.geappliances.com/ge/dishwashers/dishwasher-detergent-tips.htm - Also, we suggest to view the following link for tips- DISHWASHER - WHITE FILM ON GLASSWARE, DISHWARE AND THE INTERIOR: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16245 - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com - Sue
Hi LF - The tub and door liner is Permatuf™ Plastic. The feature that best conveys durability and reliability in GE dishwashers is the Permatuf® tub and door liner. The Permatuf® tub and door liner were developed exclusively for the harsh world inside a dishwasher. Tough, durable polypropylene-base material, similar to that used in battery cases and football helmets, was specially formulated to create the Permatuf® tub. Permatuf® will not chip, peel or crack in normal use. And it can not rust. Keep in touch! Sue
