Great smart switch with everything thought out!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this switch to be able to schedule my outdoor lights to turn on at night and have them turn off in the morning. The directions were simple to follow and they even had a website to watch an install video. I used the default white cover that came on it, but it also came with an almond colored cover in case that's what you have. The app was also pretty straight forward to use (I have android).

a must have smart switch
i totally love these GE smart switch! installation was fast with no hold ups. after 3 months never had an issue with Wi-Fi communication.

I wanted to control my exterior lights with a timer,...
I wanted to control my exterior lights with a timer, but ones that screw into the base of the bulb took up too much room in my fixture, and there was no wall outlet I could use to insert a timer. Problem solved with the Wi-Fi switch. Now it turns off and on when I want.

mytouchsmart 40792 ge wifi smart light switch. worthless wifi app . i had it installed by a professional with the of controlling the lights. the switch was placed in the shed with the pool equipment. so i purchased a wifi extender to insure a strong signal . i followed both instructions multiple times to no avail. i even typed the network into my phone still would not connect. oh yeah the switch works manually but would not connect to wifi. i noticed as i was reading the reviews most of the one's that was part of a promotion had no issues at all. just an observation. just want to say i have plenty of app experience and help others with their issue, is it the switch or the internal wifi that is faulty.

First, you will need to perform a factory reset on your switch (press and hold the flashing button for 10 seconds to reset). Delete the device from the app and re-add it again while your phone is connected to the new Wi-Fi.

Very easy to install, more difficult to connect to the wifi. I just couldn’t get the switch to work with the app and ended up pulling it back out and chucking it.

Manual connection stinks
maybe I have bad luck but cannot manually connect following the app instructions. I have other zigbee as well as zwave products and they were easier than this. this is also another app to install. I would certainly still recommend GE, but not this one.
