The load center includes a sturdy tin-plated copper buss bar and a galvanized box for increased durability and reliability. The one-piece interior removes and re-installs easily. Indoor NEMA 1 enclosure with combination surface/flush front. This load center is UL listed and ANSI Certified.

AnswersYou can use this panel as a sub and feed with the main lugs from a breaker in the main panel. If using this one as a main it'll need a 2 pole breaker and a main breaker hold down kit.

Because the price was so affordable, I was able to overlook a couple of things: The screw holes in the cover didn't align with the ones in the box. I had to do a bit of "hammer adjustment"! Also the bus contact didn't quite line up with one the breakers, so a little more "alignment" required. The knock-outs in the box required more than a little "knocking" to get them out, but like I said, I didn't pay a lot for it and after adding a ground buss, it did the job I wanted, a small sub-panel in my garage to support a welder, for not a lot of cash outlay!
On the plus side, the breakers aligned well with the cover opening and the finish is good. I was able to install two (2) single breakers (120VAC) for my lights and receptacles and a double breaker (240VAC) for the welder and compressor. It fit in the same small footprint of the previous box.
If you are on a budget, and don't mind a bit of "adjusting", I recommend this box as a small, low priced alternative. Once it's mounted and working, you'll be glad you did!

Pictured style discontinued
The TLM1212CCU has undergone a design revision in which it has 1/2" knockouts, and no main breaker knockout up top (and is notably smaller). I, too, went to purchase one to match my existing subpanel and found the item pictured is not what is sold in stores (nor is it at the blue box competitor). Based on GE's current catalog, if you're looking for what is pictured above, you will need to seek a TM1212CCU (note the absence of the "L")... Or find old stock somewhere. Boxes with red amperage labels are the newer revisions (which don't match the picture, and usually have a "P" at the end of the model number).
