Is there a specific GE 30in. microwave model (can be either OTR or countertop), in the Slate finish, that has a built-in trim kit that will fit?

No there is not. Microwave model PES7227ELES which comes in slate has feet and does not work with this slate trim kit. The 2.2 CU microwave that does fit with this trim kit comes in black and stainless only. BTW, the 2.2 CU model that fits with this trim kit is titled "Countertop" and you have to go to the specs to see that it is built-in compatible.

Hi DazK - The current replacement is GE Profile™ 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Sensor Microwave Oven PEB7227ANDD. Trim Kits are not interchangeable. The latch on to open the thing is cheap .I purchased the kit used to mount it in my cabinet, this was easy to do and it looked great. Even one was happy until we had trouble trying open the thing. Too bad I could use the language that property reflects my feelings.

This is a replacement for the first one we bought.The door was difficult to open and instead of GE fixing it we had to fill out a rebate form online wait for the certificate to arrive and then purchase a new one which they don’t cover the tax so it ends up costing you money.Won’t buy another GE

Moreover, they don’t tell you that nor do they sell a new bracket that fits in cabinet. Not built like my old one. That’s why GE stock is sinking.

The second time we used the microwave, the door wouldn’t open. We have never been so disappointed with GE products. Returning and purchasing another brand.
