Questions & Answers

Can I use my electric range to 120v ? How to convert 120to 240 volts?

I have 120 v all my house outlets how to convert to 240v?
Asked by: Sam
You mite possibly be able to get 220 volt if you had a dedicated 120 volt circuit there by changing The neutral to a hot... But what you don't have would be the correct wire size for an oven. Standard 120 volt receptacle Is either going To be 15 amps (14guage wire) or 20amp 12 gauge wire. Oven will be 30 amp (10 gauge wire) or 40amps 8 gauge wire depending On size of oven. Good luck

No. Locking the control panel does not lock the oven doors

We just installed the oven. When we turn on the top range, a noisy vibrating fan comes on. Is this normal?

Asked by: Jonathan
The manual says that a fan can come on any time even when the oven is not on. So, this is normal.

Is it possible to push this back so it is flush agains the wall? I have read instances with slide in's where the cord prevents the unit from being flush. Is there a "gap" filler if not.
Asked by: kc
No. There are vents in the rear back as well as rear top.

Customer Reviews

Profile 6.6 cu. ft. Slide-In Smart Double Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection in Slate is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 339.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good stove with some annoyances The good: the stove is very stylish and modern. It's convenient to have 2 ovens if you are cooking 2 things at once or just 1 small thing. That way you only heat up a small oven rather than waiting to heat a big oven for a small item. It's great not having a backsplash so you don't lean over hot burners to make a change. The bad: the touch screen is SUPER sensitive. Literally a dish towel brushing against the stove can activate the buttons. So you need to lock controls - especially if you want to clean. But you can't lock controls if the oven is in use. So if you like to wipe down the stove while something is cooking, you can't because you are virtually guaranteed to touch a button. There is also no storage drawer which is super annoying. Since I have nowhere to store them, I keep them in the bigger oven but need to remove them all every time I want to cook. The lower oven also smokes and smells a lot. I am hoping that stops soon or I will need to return it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking stove. Things we found after install We just purchased this stove and have used it a couple of times. Couple things I thought you might want to know. 1) The range height has limited lowering capabilities. Our stove's glass top is just about the counter top (maybe 3/16 of inch). I tried to lower the legs but they bottomed out. Our counter is standard height. I asked the store we bought it from and he just said that it's not uncommon. I'm afraid about tipping of pan, but I guess it'll be alright. 2) No users manual. REALLY! I had to come to the website to print one off. GE...how much are you saving? Good grief. It's just inconvenient and an unnecessary step for your customers. 3) It'd be nice if it came with side fillers so food couldn't slip between stove and cabinet. Because the glass top is sliding along the granite cabinet, I prefer not to slide in and out too much. 4) So far cooking has been very good--whether it be stove or oven. Haven't used the convection or probe--need directions first and hadn't had a chance to PRINT THEM OFF. 5) We are a little concerned with how well the touch pad will do. Time will tell on that.

It’s a fantastic range with superior features; however, it didn’t fit in the space according to its measurements. We have to get our granite countertops grinded & polished down to get it to fit. This has made it a little frustrating; adding an issue to my list and an additional expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clean looking and works great We've used a glass top range for over 15 years and really liked it. When it was time to shop for a new range, we wanted the glass top and we love this one. Our previous range had knobs in the back and never liked having to reach over hot pans to change settings. Having the controls in front is so much better. We have never have issues with accidently turning burners on as we always lock the buttons after use. If you clean the panel as part of the cleanup after the meal, you need to lock them anyway. The burners are simply great! We like how you can change the size of them on the two front ones. It connected to our wifi without a problem and the clock sets itself to the Internet time so you know it's always accurate. And asking our Google hub for temperature status or setting the oven temperatures is awesome. I haven't seen many reviews talk about ease of cleanup but we have found Bar Keepers Friend works the best and you can even use a razor blade scraper on very stubborn burned-on food. Our glass top still looks brand new and it gets a lot of use. We've had it for about a month and really can't find anything negative to say about it.

This review is to be updated following service of the unit as return and replacement has not been offered as option. We purchased this unit and upon the day of delivery noted that the rack in the upper oven was so tight it had to be forcibly removed, scraping the liner heavily. To reinsert the rack continued to do damage at any rack setting. Also, the rack in the lower oven had a broken rung. We informed the local Home Depot the day of delivery and were told this is a manufacturer issue and to contact GE. Due it being the weekend (GE has no weekend customer line hours) and long wait times, we were not able to get a hold of GE until approximately 72-hours after delivery. GE informed us both Home Depot and GE will now not replace the oven due to 48-hour return policy. GE set up a service appointment to look at the unit, which we still hadn't used. At the appointment, the technician forced the racks into the unit, scratching the liner off further and asking what the problem was. He told us, "If you read the manual, you must use vegetable oil to remove these racks" which even he failed to do. I guess you are supposed to burn oil in your oven all the time? After explaining the floor models didn't have this issue and asking some logical questions, he admitted there was a deeper issue and ceramic racks in these units can scrape the liner but this was even more so than usual so he recommended replacement. He said repair would be extensive and a full liner replacement would be a long job. We had to call GE again at this point to finalize the request and after being on the line ~1 hr due to the typical "higher than normal call volume", were told they would call back within 24 to 48 hours. Two days later GE calls and says another service appointment is scheduled but the GE representative had no details on the repair or what they were going to do as the individual stated they didn't have the technical knowledge to say, but they might have to order parts so it will take even longer. At this point I think GE may be trying to drag it out to the 30 day mark so the appliance can't be returned as the initial service appointment was scheduled after the 7-day deadline to avoid restocking fee on a return. Features and operation have been sound otherwise. I will update this review as I continue to use the product. The poor quality of service one can expect if something is innately wrong with a GE product should be enough to not purpose from GE in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not user friendly. Difficult to remove pans from top oven- easy to get burned. Lower oven is low. Top burners are touch controled and can be turned on by accident. There is a button to hold for 3 seconds that will turn off the touch control on the burners, but it turns off the oven too. I wish I had not bought it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love the dual ovens My last flat top stove lasted 25 years and I loved it. My new GE it's good, but when installed they did not put in a anti tipping plug. Im not sure if that is the case but when you turn the stove on it rattles, I lean against it and it will stop but I can't stay leaning against it to stop it's rattling. My other imput on dis like is that the elements do not heat as fast as my previous stove, so it;s taking some getting use to, now on the large oven, it comes with a plug you can put into your turkey or any large meal and when it reaches the ideal temp the oven turns off. my turkey was fantastic this year at Thanksgiving. Do i regret buying this stove, no it's a good stove. I just need how to adjust the levels and hopefully that will take care of the probelm of rattling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double oven rocks The double oven in this unit is extremely useful in our household, and we've seen great performance. Both ovens preheat quickly and deliver a finished product that fits our highest expectations. The rest of the range is also very good...maybe the burners run a little hot, but the controls are flexible and we expect to quickly learn the nuances. Two downsides: 1) the cook surface light is near the back and the front burners are not lit as brightly as we'd like; 2) the fit along the sides left gaps between the range and the counter so food crumbs and spills could run down the side of the range and be impossible to clean. I was surprised that a gap filler "kit" was not provided, as it was with our old range, but we bought a silicone gap filler kit and things should be fine.
