I didn’t need it like always Home Depot pressures you to buy unnecessary items. Maybe in a couple years when mine needs replaced i hopefully can find it and replace it.

Hello- We are sorry that you purchased the filter and didn't need it. A charcoal filter should be used if the over-the-range microwave oven is not vented to the outside. If you have the blower motor turned and are recirculating the microwave the charcoal filter helps trap grease and odors. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. Disappointed
Did not fit my microwave, even though the web site says it will. I returmed it 04/08/2023 and as of 05/03 I still have not received my refund even though it was delivered and picked up via HD's appliance delivery service.

I bought the microwave for my Dad's house and didn't have it with me. I was aware from online instructions that unit had to be dropped down in order to install filter. I checked Home Depot store to see if they carried filter (no). I checked online to see if one was included w/ unit (GE person said no- must order). So I ordered one ($58!!!) in order to have it ready when I installed the unit. It arrived in time, but when I went to install the unit THERE WAS ONE IN THE BOX! Can't return special order so now have wasted 58 bucks. Also, the one in the box appears to have a more dense (better) layer of charcoal than the $58 one.

It works properly, but, I think it's over priced. Unfortunately, there aren't many options to get this filter from other sources. Also, it is not a 'kit'. It's just the filter. For no more than it is, it should be included with the over, or at least you get some kind of voucher to get it. So, if you need it, you'll have to get it. But be ready for the sticker shock!
