Hello - Thank you for your question; we are happy to help. This model is only certified to work with the provided quick connects. Any other fittings, such as PVC/CPVC, could damage the unit and/or cause structural integrity issues. You may want to reach out to a certified plumber if you have concerns or need further help. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA
Hi Max - Thanks for reaching out to us and for considering this Smart filtration system for your home. We apologize for any confusion on flow rate and are happy to answer this for you. This system has a Rated Filtered Water Flow of 4 (gpm). This number indicates the flow rate at which the filter reduction claims are tested. However, this rating is not the limit, as the system has a Maximum Filtered Water Flow of 12 (gpm). This is the expected maximum flow rate through the system given ideal conditions and pressures. The filters in whole-home systems have very low pressure drop, so you will likely not notice a significant difference to your current flow rate. You can learn more about these ratings within the system's Specification Guide. We hope that this helps to clarify! -Eliza@GEA
Hi bgraderepairman - Thanks for reaching out to us about this fantastic whole home filtration system! We truly appreciate your patience and are happy to offer you some guidance in replacing the filter cartridge. This system features an easy-change filter that allows you to quickly change your filter without needing any additional tools! It is designed with a pressure-release button to easily remove trapped air from the unit and will not require the use of a bypass or hose. You can see step-by-step instructions to replace the filter on page 2 of the Use and Care Manual to learn more. We hope that this helps to clarify! -Eliza@GEA
The red button may be underneath the unit, where the water lines come in. If you have the "in" on the right, the red button will be underneath. If you have the "in" on the left, it will be on the top. You depress the red button to release pressure. Some water will squirt out. And don't forget to turn the handle on the front to the "off" position. It will be 180 degrees in the up position when rotated. Then you depress the button on the lift handle to unlock the filter. Bear in mind, it is going to be a bit difficult to raise the unlock handle. You may have to raise/lower the handle several times including pressing the red button on the back. The filter housing is really locked in.
Hmmm? I know of no video, but I’m a retired electrician and the printed instructions were clear enough that all the holes lined up for me.
Yes. Use the GE Comfort app. Call GE you will never find it easily in the APP store.
The directions say do not mount in direct sunlight.
Yes, you can, Colin. It will work just fine for you.
I realize it’s often easier to ask, but all of this information is available on the Home Depot App and you’re not relying on some homeowner, such as myself, to interpret important information. Depending on the cartridge you choose (the GE FHTLM is the best), it will filter particulate down to .5 microns, lead and chlorine taste. None will remove bacteria. I rely on the Home Depot App for all product information. I find it to be the very best App of it’s kind.
Hi Dee - Thanks for viewing GE Model # GXWH70M! Three performance levels are available by choosing FTHLM, FTHTM, FTHPM filter cartridge for your system. For best filtration results, filters should be replaced every three months or 15,000 gallons. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
