Q:Why does this system require an electrical connection? Is this only required for the wi-fi feature? Or do you need a power source for the filter to actually operate? If only for wi-fi, can I buy this same exact system without the wi-fi feature?

Q:I don't see anything about the size or type of home it's designed for. Will it work efficiently in a 1,400 s.f. foundation home, with about 12 water outlets (2 bathrooms, 5 faucets, washer, sprinklers)? What about water pressure reduction?

A: Hi there - Great question! This filter will work great with your home. The size of the house doesn't matter, it matters more about how much water is going through the filter. This smart system has the option to track and monitor usage and to know when a filter change is needed. The more water you use, the more often you will have to change the filter. A: I currently use it in a similar sized SF home. Witnessed no pressure drop. "Efficiency" is relative to your consumption which would translate to the frequency of changing filters. With a family of 2 adults and 3 kids under 9, I average 110 gal/day and change the Basic filter about 4 times a year. Water source is a well so I'm just filtering for sediment. I assume frequency of filter changes would lessen if on public water.

Q:Do I need to open all the faucets to flush the cartridge for ten minutes (then ten minutes after an hour later) for first-time use, or use only one faucet?

A: Hello. We appreciate you reaching out with this great question! Flushing out the cartridge with one faucet open should be sufficient as long as you leave it on for 10 minutes and about 40 gallons of water. You may be able to decrease the length of time by turning on more than one faucet but in that case we wouldn’t have an official recommendation regarding how many minutes to leave the faucets on. A: Greetings - Great question! We're happy to help with this question. This unit comes with the following warning: Do not use where water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequately disinfecting before or after the system, such as single-user wells, or other non-public water systems not regulated by federal or state health and safety requirements. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. With that being said, we cannot recommend using this unit on well water. NOT worth the money

Have been having issues time and time again with changing the filter(hard to lift and change filter). The handle you lift up to release the filter container has completely broken off (see pic). Called GE and they said sorry. Unit is over 1 year old. Purchased May of 2021. For a device that costs that much would have expect it to last more than 2 years.

Easy to setup

I like that the filter came with push fittings. That was a big plus. Simple, small, smart, versatile. Couldn't ask for more. Added it to my three filter system. And it with great.
