Q:I had this GE water filter system about 5 years ago and it has leaked on and off for a 2 or more years. Replaced filters many times no luck. Professionally installed so that?s not the issue. Can I get a new filter system at no charge. I did all I could.

Went through 3. They all broke. Not recommended.
While I credit Home Depot for replacing the first two, all three of these I had broke. The housing that holds the filters cracked. It appeared to be failure in the plastic molding process to me. Basically the same place all three times. Too bad as it was, by design, a good model for our situation. I gave up after the 3rd and will go a different direction. The picture below is of the third one.

            Developed leak at 1.5 year
This device worked great for about a year and a half. In actuality, had it not developed this problem, I would recommend it. However, the housing that holds the filter cartridges developed a leak that went undetected for a few months (the pic shows the filters at about 4 months of use; they need to be replaced every 6 months or so). The leak led to mold developing on the unit and ran all the way down the unit, and down the filter. Do not recommend.

              Really like it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently installed our GE Dual Flow Water Filtration System and we really like it. First of all the install was so easy. The directions were very thorough and took my husband less than an hour to install it, and that was including take out a soap dispenser that was previously there. Now for the most important part the taste of the water. I am a water snob and will NOT drink tap water or unfiltered water. My sink water is so good now! I can taste the difference, it tastes so fresh I love it! I highly recommend this water system! Must buy!

                Eliminates unwanted chemicals and pharmaceuticals
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I contacted a Plumber to help me install this as I the Plummer needed to drill a hole in one of the pipes. The rest of the hook up was easily done by the plumber who took about 15 minutes to install the whole thing. If no holes are needed to be made in a pipe then the average person should be able to install this system on their own. I like that the light on the box lights up when a new filter is need and this box is battery operated. This system has a 1 year warranty. This filtration system is supposed to eliminate the taste of chlorine, which it has so far. It also eliminates pharmaceuticals that can leech into the water supply. The water from my sink tastes purer with no after taste.

Super excited to be using this product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have several GE appliances and have been happy with them to date. GE is a trusted brand so I did not hesitate using this filtration system. All of the parts needed were included, none missing. Easy to install and a Noritake difference in the taste of the water dispensed. Hopefully this will continue to work as well as it has been for years to come!

                    Easy Install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE High Flow Filtration System was an easy install for an amateur, such as myself. I love that I can filter the water through my current faucet. The long, 6-month filter life is perfect for my water-loving family. I live in a highly contaminated area, so this is perfect for my household.

                      Good water filter.
It works fine. Easy to install if you have the right tools. I saw the installation video on YouTube and decided to buy this filter. My previous GE filter was 12 years old. This new one has more water flow. I guess is because the hose is 3/8" instead of a 1/4". Haven't had any problems so far. No leaks. The red light hasn't turn on yet after 9 months. Maybe is because I don't use it too much. Just remember to tell your guests to turn the control knob back, so they don't use filtered water to wash dishes.

                        Plastic broke
I've had this about 1.5 years. It is kinda clumsy to have to keep turning the knob. Well, I lived with it...but finally I must've twisted too hard because now the plastic connector broke.

Well, I have had this filter system close to 2 months. The installation was very easy to do. We do drink a lot of water and even after several weeks of use the filtered water still tastes like plastic. I have gone to the extend to buy a water tester to compare tap water and filtered water quality. I also pulled one of my purified water bottle to see the difference between the three waters. The difference between the filtered water and tap water is pretty close to tap water hence the taste. The parts per million (total dissolved solids TDS) are quite different when compared with the purified water. The water taste of the filtered water is not acceptable. The plastic taste of the water after it has set in the filtration system for some time is below expectation. Perhaps the hoses used in this system is not food safe. But for sure I will call customer service and see what they can say about it. But frankly, I'm not sure what they can do about it. I also will see if Home Depot can exchange this filter for something different.
