What is the maximum thickness of countertop the faucet can be installed on?
      BySep 14, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

The product manual describes the installation process for the faucet, which involves sliding a black plastic washer, a star washer, and a mounting nut over the faucet stud on the underside of the sink or countertop. While the manual details the components used for securing the faucet, it does not specify a maximum countertop thickness for installation. You can find the mounting installation details starting on page 7 at the link: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/e6/e6446b9e-a34d-4325-85b4-4b2b1ef0c0d0.pdf. It works, but the plastic fitting are horrible! Do better GE we spend over $120 for this install kit and have to make a trip back to the store over the plastic fitting. Do better and include something more robust

                    Great filter and easy installation
Purchased this to replace my Brita pitcher, installation could not have been easier. I saw many reviews about how the instructions are bad, they were very straightforward as long as you read them ahead of time. It took about an hour in total, so simple, this was just what I was looking for. It also has very strong water flow which is great!

                      Package misrepresents product
Box clearly depicts a brushed nickel faucet and the package contains a chrome faucet. The only labeling I could find on the package was for a 'Designer Faucet'. Absolute waste time and returned immediately.

                        Good flow
Just got this today, so I’ll update upon more use. Instructions were decent and install was easy enough. For $130 I thought the components would be better. The connection to water line is plastic unlike other brands this is metal/brass. It definitely has a good performance on flow. I like that I don’t have capacity restrictions like I did with my one from my softener company.

                          Terrible directions!
I just came here to say the directions sucked. It says you need to use a 1” yellow tube and a 3” yellow tube. Not only are these not included, but you don’t need them! The t-connector connects straight to the existing water line. 4” yellow tube goes to the inlet. 4” blue (also referenced as orange) tube comes out of outlet and goes to gray piece that connects to the fountain. The only other thing is the black washer needs to be installed with the flat side facing up to keep the fountain flush on top. If you follow these few changes, you should be able to install this in 30 min. Very easy. Also, don’t forget to use the enclosed plumbing tape on the threaded connections to avoid leaks.

Product is great but directions suck. Watch out for the "drill 1-1/4 inch hole ". If you look at the diagram it is a 12.5mm that was miss translated!!

                              Good Filters Poor Quality Unit
I just bought a new unit to replace the same one I bought about 18 months ago. Up until a few days ago it worked great. The filters are very good, and the water tastes better than other filter systems I have used. Unfortunately, the plastic head unit sprung a leak and completely ruined the under-sink cabinet. I read in other reviews the same problem. I definitely would have replaced it with something else, except I had already purchased several replacement filters which are not cheap.

faucet is missing parts for installation
The installation diagrams in the manual and the faucet insert differ. Why are the necessary parts needed to connect the faucet pipe to the tubing not included in the package? Where can I obtain those parts?

We hate to hear that there has been some confusion with the installation instructions for your new filtration system. The installation instructions found online are the most up to date, and we recommend using those when installing your system. We also recommend checking page 10 to ensure you have the parts found there. We’ve linked the latest version of the instructions below. https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--T4uW3ZPa--/chc29mxl1tj3v3lo6abh.pdf
                                  Product description is misleading
Most under sink filtration systems allow you to connect the filter directly to your existing faucet. The box and description mentioned nothing about this product being meant for a separate faucet next to your main faucet. It doesn't even give you the option to have a single faucet. The only place I found that mentions this is meant for choosing between filtered and unfiltered water between 2 different faucets was in the instructions after I bought the product.
