I have been a builder remodeler for 48 years, and as such I have had occasionally had opportunities to use a product like this 40 MM FAN NUT WRENCH. When doing work in existing furnace installations where a fan needs to be removed from its motor, this wrench is a valuable tool to have, as it will be difficult to remove otherwise, Thats when this wrench is just the ticket.

I ordered this product as I was doing a substantial teardown of my truck engine and I knew that this would be a valuable tool to have. My truck has a belt driven radiator fan that is surrounded by a radiator shroud. The best sequence of operations is to remove the fan before the shroud so as to not damage the radiator. Space is very limited and this wrench's thin profile makes it perfect for the job. Designed specifically for this task, it is strong but thin so I wouldn't plan on using it for any other purpose.

This wrench was a blessing. As I had to replace the water pump on my pick up it saved a lot of head aches. It fit the fan nut perfect. Was able to get it apart fast. It is very strong to do the job. I have not found a thing to not like yet. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and had four people want to borrow it. Very well made and worth the money.

This is the wrench you need if you have the popular Ford 300 I6 (4.9 liter). It probably fits a few others too. I used it to remove and reinstall the fan clutch as intended, and it worked without any problems. The square hole on the end is nice, you can grab a rachet handle instead of searching for a piece of pipe to use as a breaker bar.
It appears to be tool steel, it has good hardness and did not bend or deform when I used it. The edges are nicely rounded, comfortable to use even with bare hands. The finish is durable, has not flaked off after normal use. It's a simple tool, but it is made well and does the job.
