I am interested in using this as a packaging filler, rather than bubble wrap or Styrofoam peanuts. Can anyone supply the expanded volume of one can?

Hi MugWumps, the theoretical yields on one-component foams is measured in lineal feet of a 3/8" - 1/2" diameter bead. 16 oz. Big Gap Filler - 335-400 lineal feet (3/8" diameter). GREAT STUFF™ Insulating Foam Sealant products use moisture in the air to cure. They are designed to fill small Cracks and gaps with a maximum 3 inch diameter bead. Do not use GREAT STUFF™ sealants to fill enclosed voids such as behind drywall or under tub surrounds; this improper use of the product could result in the accumulation of flammable vapors and/or uncured material. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions provided with the product, and/or all applicable rules and regulations, can result in injury or death.

Can i apply this in a gap that is vertical vs horizontal? Any tips?

Use masking tape for small gaps, duct tape for large gaps. Tape over the gap (on both sides if you can) then punch holes in the tape and spray foam through the holes. The tape (kind of like "forms" for concrete) will help keep the foam where it belongs.

Will this block odors?

Have suspected mice nest underfloor. There is an odor coming from a 2inch gap Where wall meets the floor. Will sealing it block the order emanating from this gap?

It will block air movement, so odors on the other side shouldn't come through.

Low temps no, high temps yes. Exposure to UVA light is a problem after a while. You can pain it with latex paint. If it's covered you are good for a long time.

It could actually stand to be a little stickier--I had to do a couple applications in order to get it to fill a gap between a couple of boards near my attic, and it would not stick to the boards, it just kind of falls into a pile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from How to re-use without throwing out after first use When I tried to re-use the can after one week, the built in straw broke off. I felt bad throwing out the can since it was still full, so I kept it for more than a week. Meanwhile i realized that the STRAW from DAP Tex foam sealant (that I also bought from Hdepot) could fit in the hole where the built-in straw was. SO I cleaned the hole and inserted the straw from DAP Tex and when I pushed the base aside to trigger the outflow of the foam, out came the foam !! But make sure to shake the can for a full minute ! SO DONT THROW OUT AFTER FIRST USE, get the STRAW FROM DAP TEX and you can fully use all the contents as I did! Note, it may be a little hard pushing the base of the straw-hole which triggers the outflow of the foam but if you wear gloves to minimize the pain, you can use up the entire can as i did !
