Product Overview

GREAT STUFF Gaps and Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant with Quick Stop Straw Technology is a polyurethane-based insulating foam sealant that fills, air-seals and insulates small gaps (up to 1 in.) inside or out. What's amazing is how easy it is to use, thanks to the Quick Stop Straw Technology, and how it expands to take the shape of cracks and voids. This forms a durable, airtight and water-resistant bond that eliminates unwanted airflow and helps reduce condensation.
  • Quick Stop Straw technology - helps stop messy foam drips
  • Expands to fill the shape of cracks and voids for airtight bond
  • Air sealing and insulating saves up to 20% on home energy costs
  • GREAT STUFF gaps and cracks can be used in interior or exterior application and is tack free in 15-minutes, trims in 30-minutes to 60-minutes
  • Forms a permanent weather-tight seal to minimize drafts and insect infestation and has exceptional adhesion to building materials
  • Cures as a cream-colored rigid foam, ease of application results from all-direction dispensing
  • One 16 oz. can equals up to 30 tubes (9 Qt.) of caulk
  • Foam elasticity properties allow for movement and shifting within a structure

I am thinking of applying this to the rubber rim of a car door. Question: if it doesn't work, is it easy to remove?
Asked by: David
Hello David, We do not recommend using the GREAT STUFF(TM) for this application. There is no solvent that will remove cured polyurethane foam. If the foam has not cured yet, use GREAT STUFF PRO™ Gun Cleaner or fingernail polish remover (with acetone) to quickly remove the uncured foam. Test a small area of the substrate first as the chemicals in the nail polish remover and gun cleaner may not be compatible with the substrate being cleaned. For cured foam, remove as much as possible with a dull scraper or a hacksaw blade and then try scrubbing the remaining film with a non-abrasive cleaner. If that does not work, gradually move up to more aggressive means including sanding, sandblasting and repainting

Can this be used around copper piping to used for forced hot water baseboard heating.

I have pipes leading from several boilers into several apartments… They all start in the basement and work their way up. I’d like to use this to fill any gaps that were left with the holes were drilled to install three-quarter inch piping. The piping is copper, and used for forced hot water baseboard heating.
Asked by: 7524
Hello 7524, GREAT STUFF(TM) is compatible with copper piping. When applying the foam, make sure all pilot lights and sources of heat that are within 15 feet of the area be shut off. They can be turned back on an hour after the foam has been applied. Also, once cured, GREAT STUFF(TM) can handle temperatures up to 240 fahrenheit.

Can i use it on my corigated roofing to fill gaps

Asked by: Papa
Hello Papa, GREAT STUFF(TM) is not marketed for such an application, since it is water resistant and not water proof. Plus, once it is cured, the foam would have to be protected from UV sunlight (painted or covered over).
