Good Faucet but Installation Issues
Customer review from logo
The faucet works well and is of good quality with the exception of the basin nut securing the faucet to the sink. The nut is plastic and would not tighten without backing off and loosening up making installation impossible. After running to five different plumbing supply stores I was able to find a brass nut to fit the fixture size and threads. After that the installation was simple. I suggest testing this nut before trying to install to avoid issues. I did not expect a Grohe product to have plastic parts.

I have been buying Grohe products for 30 years. This will be the last. I received this Grohe Ladylux 2 faucet at the end of March. I’m not even going to comment on the quality or performance of the faucet- it is simply mediocre and surely not worth the Grohe premium. I was replacing a 20 year old Ladylux that was wonderful and this one just doesn’t compare. However, the installation of this faucet was absolutely INFURIATING (and yes I would shout if I could) and there are so many issues that it is absolutely inexcusable how Grohe has done this. And I have plenty of mechanical experience to know. In a standard kitchen faucet, there is a large plastic nut that you spin on underneath and tighten by hand. In this faucet, that simple nut has become a complicated assembly that you push up, and then tighten by hand. They call this “Quickfix Plus” and they crow about it. So Grohe has saved you 10 seconds at most and created a complicated assembly that has serious issues. The worst- If the surface you are working against underneath the sink is not dead flat and parallel to the top, the “nut” will skip and fail to tighten. The installation sheet is pictures only- no words. So you can guess how much fun that is. Example- the installation comes with an extra piece of paper- addendum- that tells you that they packed an extra washer, so throw one away. In pictures. Now if they had printed clear pictures of the three washers TO SCALE then there would be no problem throwing away the right one. But they didn’t and I picked the wrong one and that cost me an hour of head scratching and disassembly and reassembly. There IS an official installation video posted by Grohe on youtube but it is NOT linked on the Grohe page for this product or on the Grohe site anywhere or on the installation sheet. It was a big help once I thought to search for it. It is here: Nowhere on the Grohe site (and believe me I searched) is there a link to the installation sheet. Really?? I finally found it here: at the site (look halfway down on the right). In 2013, Grohe was purchased by the Japanese building materials company Lixil Group so you can imagine why the quality has gone downhill… OK, I could go on and on but I really want to put Grohe out of my mind forever…

Response from Grohe Customer CareApril 28, 2020
Hello, thank you for the feedback on this product and we apologize for the experience you have had so far. The underside of the counter top does not need to be perfectly level for the nut to stay in place. The nut will only slip loose if the rubber washers are not place on the nut properly. The light grey washer is placed on the nut first and then the smaller black washer. If you need further assistance please contact us at and we will be able to further assist you.
