For those of you that installed this faucet--did you have any trouble tightening the big blue nut...

I now have an answer to my own question and a response to Frank, who offered an answer. The simple answer is that the nut works if you discard the black washer that seems to fit the nut. If you use this washer, the nut will not tighten, but, if you put the hard plastic washer next to the nut, it will tighten. I did not figure this out myself. It was discovered by an employee of Grohe. When I first called Grohe two weeks ago, I spoke to a "senior technician." At that point I just wanted to know where the various washers fit. This senior technician was not familiar with my faucet (in fairness, it is very new). Nevertheless, he told my I was "over-thinking it." With that sage advice in mind, I attempted to install the faucet. None of the washers seemed designed to be used above the counter top; so I guessed which ones to use. Below the counter I used the black washer that fit perfectly with the nut, and the nut would not tighten. In frustration, I called Grohe again and spoke to the same senior technician. He told me that he had no information on my faucet and he could not help me. He said the nut must be defective and I would have to return the faucet to the place of purchase and get a replacement. I tried to explain the Home Depot Seeds Program to him, but he did not understand and, frankly, didn't care. Rather than doing some research to help me, he basically dismissed me as a nuisance. After a vain attempt to find a replacement nut at a plumbers' supply store, I called Grohe once more. This time, the person who answered at least listened to me. Unfortunately, he was also unfamiliar with the faucet, even though I gave him the model number. After some discussion, he said he would send me a replacement mounting kit. Nine days later I received a mounting kit for a bathroom faucet. When I emailed the person I spoke to and told him I received the wrong parts, he asked for a photo of the faucet. He responded tersely, "That is not a Grohe product." Needless to say, I was perturbed by his response, which I considered rude and demeaning. I responded by sending him a link to the faucet on the Home Depot website. When he received my email, he called me to apologize. He said this was a very new product and he had never dealt with it before. He said he would send the correct part. In a subsequent email, I asked him to test the nut before he sent it to me. When I asked if he had sent the part yet, he sent an email which I did not understand, but it sounded like the part was not in stock. I responded that I did not understand and asked him to call me. The next day he called and told me that the nut I had would work if I used only the hard plastic washer next to the nut. I tried what he suggested and it worked, and I thanked him. My take on this experience is that Grohe launched this product far too hastily. The people who interact with customers knew nothing about this faucet. Also, the instructions are not clear at all. Now that the faucet is installed, I am pleased with it, but the experience has left me with a bad impression of Grohe.

Can this faucet be connected to a different filter, such as a Hahn filter?

Answer

This faucet will only work with the 40438001 filter kit.

GROHE LADYLUX L2 SINGLE-HANDLE BEVERAGE FAUCET (COLD WATER ONLY) WITH FILTER FUNCTION IN SUPERSTE...
GROHE LADYLUX L2 SINGLE-HANDLE BEVERAGE FAUCET (COLD WATER ONLY) WITH FILTER FUNCTION IN SUPERSTEEL INFINITY FINISH This Ladylux 2 cold faucet was to be part of an upgrade to our kitchen when combined with the Ladylux 2 kitchen faucet. That will not be the case. As others have found, this is actually not a Ladylux 2 but rather what a Grohe technical support person called a Ladylux New. As was explained to me, the difference is the plastic slip-nut designed to secure to the counter. CRITICAL: Ignore the diagram. The rubber ring goes against the counter, then the large gray plastic washer, then the slip-nut (or what is called the Quickfix Plus) Technical support knows virtually nothing about this line of faucet. As pointed out in other reviews, the water feeds the faucet, returns to a filter system and returns to the faucet. The actual filter head part number is not available, but the tech assured me that it will connect to any filtration system which I believe to be true. To be clear, the finish on this faucet is beautiful-- better than surgical steel-- but the design of it for installation is ridiculous and very odd for German engineering. Because of the holidays (yes, for some reason my wife wanted running water in our kitchen) this faucet, with its bigger brother, will be used in an upcoming bar counter remodel in our family room.

Hello, thank you for the feedback on this product and we apologize for the experience you have had so far. The two rubber washers would go directly against the bottom of the counter top if the triangle brace is needed depending on the thickness of your counter top. If the counter top is thicker than 1 3/4" this brace is not needed. The filter head is available as part number 64508001 or you can get the entire kit which is part number 40438001 as shown in the users manual. Grohe-AmericanStandard

The installation was incredibly simple! I was surprised and anxious when I first opened it because of how much it comes with, but the instructions helped me along the way. The instructions were clear and helpful and thorough. The filtered water works really well and the faucet does turn left and right for access. The handle for hot and cold is easy to move as well. It is in chrome which looks amazing with our counter top and sink! Overall I definitely recommend.

It's a Grohe! Can't go wrong with Grohe. The finish is great. I replaced my Price Pfister faucet, nothing wrong the Price Pfister, it was just old and starting to show it's age after this many years. The Grohe is a great upgrade. It's a faucet that will last me for a long time I am sure. Install was easy. Packaging was surprisingly environmentally friendly... Compared to other faucets I've purchased before this one had little plastic to throw away and most of the packaging was cardboard. I love the finish. I was a bit worried about the "supersteel infinity finish" but it fits my decor perfectly. Truly a beautiful faucet, very much recommended.

We have got a few faucets from Home Depot and all of them have been great. We got this one to replace a faucet that we have in our fifth wheel. This is a great faucet and the one we had before we very basic and this one is very nice and much better and has a filter and a nicer finish. It gives our fifth wheel a better look to it. We have a older fifth wheel so we have been trying to make it nicer and this faucet did the job. We have to buy a piece to cover the hole but other than that it looks good.

This faucet looks gorgeous, but my husband found it impossible to install. We ordered it to replace our old filtered water faucet. The old faucet had a single plastic piping supply line running from the filter system under the sink. Like the old faucet, this faucet has a plastic piping supply line running into it, but it also has a larger braided supply line attached to it. And it came with two additional braided supply lines. My husband was initially puzzled by all of the supply lines. After looking at the instructions and examining the faucet, he concluded that one of the two extra supply lines, which had different sized connectors, was supposed to connect to the cold water supply. Which one to use depends on the connection to the cold water supply. The unused supply line is simply trashed. (By the way, another odd thing is that these two supply lines are not of equal length. Fortunately, the one we needed is the longer one, which was just barely long enough.) The selected supply line screws into the faucet by inserting and twisting until hand tight. The braided supply line that came attached to the faucet is to be connected to the input connector of the Grohe Blue filter head, which is not included. And the plastic piping supply line connects to the output connector of the filter head. Needless to say, this is a very odd arrangement. When installed, the unfiltered cold water runs into the faucet body via one of the braided supply lines but then runs back out of the faucet body through the other braided suypply line and connects to the filter head. After filtering, the water then runs back into the faucet body and out the spout. It is difficult to understand why the unfiltered cold water does not simply run through the filter and then into the faucet body, like my old faucet. The arrangement is unnecessarily complicated and makes installation more difficult than it needs to be. The instructions are simply awful. There are no words, just pictures, which need not be a problem if the instructions are clear, but these are not. The pictures do not match the parts that came in the box. Aside from the faucet body and the supply lines, most of the parts came in a plastic bag, but there were two additional washers in a paper envelope. And there was a separate two-page instruction sheet that appears to be a correction. It indicates that one washer is to be discarded and two others are to be used in its place; however, it is guesswork to determine which washers are which. My husband called Grohe's Help Line for help with the washers. The person to whom he spoke was described as a senior technician. Unfortunately, he was completely unfamiliar with the faucet. The model number on the box is 30026DC2. He said that model 30026 is a standard kitchen faucet and he had no information about the faucet in our hands. Because he had no information about this faucet, he was not very helpful. My husband finally decided which washers to use where and began the installation, only to encounter another problem. The large plastic nut that screws onto the faucet body from underneath the counter top proved to be the final straw. The nut would tighten only to a point and then it appeared to slip off the threads and become loose again. My husband called Grohe again and explained the problem, but the technician said he did not know what the problem was and recommended returning the faucet for replacement. My husband described how the threads inside the nut looked like they might be defective and asked if Grohe could just send a replacement. The technician said there was nothing he could do. In order to install the faucet, my husband had to drill a much larger hole in the counter top than the one that accommodated the old faucet. So now we have a large hole and no faucet and we cannot use the sink until this new faucet can be installed. We are trying to reach someone at Grohe who can help. I think the faucet will look beautiful, if it is ever successfully installed, but I am not sure it is worth all the trouble.

The title for this faucet does not match the product. When I think of "Standard Kitchen Faucet" I think of hot and cold water and weaker and stronger pressure. I have installed many, many faucets in the last 40 years but I have no idea how to hook this one up. The instructions come with drawings and minimal words. No written instructions at all. The fittings do not match up with USA shut off valves. Apparently this is made for the German market not the USA market although a couple of connections say "USA" on them. This is apparently for cold water only and with a water filter which is not included. I will probably end up throwing this "faucet away" since it is not usable to me. Or at least I don't know how to use it. I could probably hook it up with a lot of secondary fittings but it is not worth the time or the effort.

Hello, thank you for the feedback on this product and we apologize for the experience you have had so far. We are working closely with Home Depot to have the description of this faucet changed. These faucets use standard 3/8" compression fittings which are now standard in the US. Please contact us at grohetechcare@lixil.com and we will be able to further assist you. Grohe-AmericanStandard

A simple solution for cleaner water. This Ladylux L2 Pillar Tap Single-Handle Standard Kitchen Faucet with Filter Function in StarLight Chrome is another quality product from Grohe. There are many uses for this beauty but I decided it would work well next to my kitchen faucet where my soap dispenser was located. Since this was a cold water only faucet, I added a tee to my cold water supply and the GROHE Blue filter with filter head 40 438 001for a simple solution for cleaner water. I could have bought a new refrigerator with a filtered water option but this was a cheaper option -about a $1000.00 cheaper. The faucet blends well with my current faucet and the Starlight Chrome finish is flawless. Grohe products are quality products that perform well for many years trouble-free. I am very pleased with this GROHE Ladylux L2 Pillar Tap Single-Handle Standard Kitchen Faucet with Filter Function in StarLight Chrome. Another amazing product from Grohe!

Grohe LadyLux2 … this is not your average water tap filtration faucet! The Grohe LadyLux2 Zedra water filtration faucet is a beautifully designed and well-constructed high end water filtration faucet that is definitely a cut above the rest. Grohe is known for their engineering and excellent quality faucets and this one lives up to their reputation. This water tap faucet is solid stainless steel throughout, not an ounce of plastic, has a ceramic valve and a stainless super steel finish. The design is very sleek and modern and the Starlight Chrome finish, which is similar to brush nickel, is very beautiful and looks great with stainless steel appliances. This tap faucet is definitely top quality! I just want to make clear that I, like many others, ordered this faucet thinking it was a regular kitchen faucet but it is actually a tap water filtration faucet, it is not a standard kitchen faucet. This faucet is shorter than a standard kitchen faucet (height is approximately 10.5 inches with spout height of 7 inches) and does not have sprayer functions like the newer faucets because it is meant to be used as an additional faucet for filtrated water. According to Grohe technical support, the filtration system, the Grohe Red filtration system, Model 40-438-001 (see picture), must be purchased separately and from what I can tell it is not carried at your everyday big box store, you may find it at some high end kitchen and bath retailers that carry water filtration systems. Grohe also list retailers in your area on their website. Purchasing the Grohe Red Filtration system is an additional $300-$400. After realizing this is a water tap filtration faucet I was hoping I could install this with my current filtration system but the connectors are not compatible so I suppose I will have to purchase the Grohe Red filtration system. Additionally, the faucet would not seat properly in my current countertop opening so I will have to have a plumber widen the opening to 1 5/16ths per the instructions (see pictures). Installation of the faucet seems fairly straight forward but the connections to the filtration system look confusing. The instruction pamphlet does not include written instructions, only diagrams and pictures which is a little odd. The faucet is manufactured in Portugal so maybe they don’t need written instructions but I think most people would prefer them in the US! Make no mistake, the quality of this GROHE LADYLUX 2 ZEDRA WATER TAP FAUCET is far better than your average tap faucet and even better than most kitchen faucets that are used more frequently. The Starlight Chrome finish is beautiful and the solid stainless construction should last for years but I would have preferred that the faucet and Grohe Red Filtration system be sold as one system so once purchased you are ready to install. Despite having to purchase the filtration system separately this GROHE ZENDRA TAP FAUCET is definitely 5 stars.

I am so happy to get this faucet it looks amazing and works smoothly. My plumber installed this with no problem and he complimented me on such a fine faucet. The water pressure is excellent and also very easy to clean. I noticed that it is smooth after cleaning and unlike my old one, does not show any spots from water on it. I love the easy features on it and am so happy to rid myself of my old fashioned faucet.

Time for the home bar makeover! We tried to make this project unique by using a reclaimed vanity and a cool looking lustrous blue and black vessel sink. The crowning topping on this project was the Ladylux L2 pillar tap single-handle kitchen faucet, (with a filter function). The starlight chrome blended very well with the other fixtures. Without a doubt, this faucet is a high-quality faucet that should last for many years, without any leakage or drip problems (thanks to a ceramic disc valve). The filter function in a bar sink is important to us so that we could have filtered water for drinks, and also for ensuring that ice cubes will be frozen without any impurities. The high arch and the swivel base makes this a truly functional faucet for the home bar. This faucet has features and designs that truly make the Ladylux L2 a high-quality faucet that will fit in any home décor.
