Wonderful grab bar! Nice chrome finish and it extremely sturdy. I mounted this onto ceramic tiles in our shower which is a tub/shower combo. Mounting it required a bit of moderate DIY know-how and skill. First, I needed a concrete/tile drill bit to drill through the tiles. Holes must be accurate and level if you want the bar to be mounted plumb and straight. After marking the locations for the holes and the holes are drilled, you attach two mounting brackets using the included (6) screws and anchors. You then attach the main bar to the two brackets with two small screws that are screwed in from underneath. Great addition to the shower. Having something to grab onto to prevent a slip and fall in the shower is priceless. This bar does the job.

I know very little about grab bars. I assume the main function of a grab bar is to provide a secure handhold to help hoist oneself to a standing position. It should be extremely important how the grab bar is affixed to the wall. This grab bar comes with plastic anchors that are used when there is no stud to screw into. The bar itself is very heavy. I wonder how much weight will plastic anchors in wallboard holdup? This grab bar is definitely attractive, heavy and well built but the mounting instructions are poorly written. Lots of measuring and calculating needs to be done to get it done right.

The chrome grab bar is probably one of the longest I have ever had being (22 inches?) It is very heavy and the chrome is very shiny. They provided 6 screws, 5 washers, and 5 plastic anchors. I guess the expectation of not sending 6 plastic anchors and 6 washers are that you should hit at least one beam. The instructions are descriptive of the items. No templet or instructions on how far apart to drill the holes for each arm.
The Quality of the bar is excellent but the instructions are lacking. I measured the 2 outer holes to be 22 14/16 inch apart and the inter holes to be 21 10/16 inch apart. I took one of the ends loose to use as a guide to mark the 3 holes using a level. I then used the above measurements to mark the distance of the second arm. I then drilled the holes as marked, using 5 plastic anchors washers and screws, the bar slid on with ease. and then secured the bar to the mounts with the screws provided. With the limited Lifetime warrantee the product is built to last.

An extremely well constructed – good looking, highly stylized grab bar – the design is a part of Grohe’s Selection Cube line. The polished chrome finish is durable and easily cleaned. The solid grab bar weights 4-1/2 pounds – there is 1-9/16” clearance between the trapezoid shaped bar and the wall.
Although there is a physical joint line between the bar and the end arms, the bar is fixed to the end arms. Each end arm is secured to the wall bracket with a #6 screw with locktite preapplied (see photo – loctite is blue). The cast metal mounting bracket is secured to the wall with three #8 x 2-1/8” long screws. The cast metal mounting bracket is very stout (weights 3.4 ounces) and is well suited to the task of securing the grab bar. The base of this bracket is nominally 0.4” thick.
The installation diagram (see photo) shows using just plastic expansion anchors and #8 screws into a tiled wall. I would not recomment this – this could minimally be relying on just gypsum board to provide support – the screws should be driven into wood studs or blocking – this 22” model could be installed diagonally into existing studs at 16” o.c. which could utilize 2 of the 3 screws on each bracket directly into the studs (the plastic expansion anchors could then be used on the third screw).
Just a personal observation – grab bars are generally installed to help make one’s environment safer – the sharp corners at the ends of this particular design – although consistent with the Selection Cube line design motif - appear to counter that train of thought.

Grohe never lets me down. This company makes top shelf products and this 22 inch grab bar is no exception. Finely crafted, you can feel the quality the moment you pick it up. The weight of this grab bar instantly tells you it is heavy duty and solid. Installation was a breeze. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. All items needed to install were included. This grab bar is amazing and I highly recommend it.

It says "Grab Bar", but in the Questions and Answers, GROHE responded "Hello, this is not meant to be a grab bar and only as a towel bar." This was back in August 2018. Therefore, to be on the safe side, use it as a very sturdy towel bar. It is quite heavy, around 5 pounds. It looks great and promises not to lose its shine. It was easy to install with the included screws. Due to the confusing about what this really is, I'm giving it only 3 stars. If it was listed as only a towel bar, I'd give it 5 stars and it if was truly a grab bar, I'd also give it 5 stars.

This is an ideal safety feature that everybody could use in their bathrooms regardless of age or disability. The high quality material and craftsmanship shows the remarkable design that went into creating the grab bar. It is hefty and durable. I love the large size, because it is easier to grab in a moments notice.
The shiny, chrome finish is absolutely beautiful. A+ in every way.

Grohe makes this grab / towel bar and it lives up to their reputation for quality. The bar is very heavy and sturdy. The chrome is almost flawless, it is almost like a mirror. The company says it's scratch resistant, and I haven't scratched it, but I can't attest to that feature. I do like the concealed fasteners and they were very easy to install.

I ordered the Grohe Cube 22 in. grab bar so that my 84 year old mother would have additional security in the bath. This bar will certainly do the trick. That the he starlight chrome finish is beautiful is an added bonus. The bar comes with steel mounts and is a hefty 4 lb according to my home scale. The width of the bar is comfortable and the mounts allow plenty of room for your fingers to close around the bar in a moment of panic without hitting the wall. Additionally, mounted horizontally, it's stand-in for a towel bar. I recommend this grab bar and and it's family of products to enhance the safety and beauty of your bathroom.
