This is generally a good idea so the seedlings that remain will grow larger and stronger.

This Mini Salad garden growing kit was fun to plant and watch progress over time. The package came with everything included (seeds, watering nozzle, stakes, potting soil, etc.) and simple instructions. The follow up reminder texts that are sent are also helpful along the way and a great reminder. I have kept it in my kitchen window where it receives lots of light and I can easily water daily. It’s nice to pull off some of the plant and use it for cooking various dishes as well.

This growing garden kit is a great package deal. Everything you need to grow a great salad is included, just need to add water! The seeds, the dirt the container is complete, all you do is read the directions. Just be careful you put the seeds in the correct way so they grow properly. The seeds are for kale, arugula and spinach. The seeds are organic too, which is great.

The Gyo Mini Salads Garden Kit comes with everything you need to plant a mini garden. The Kit ships by US Postal Service and arrives very quickly. The kit includes a bag of organic dirt and the seed pods. The only issue I have is you have to text them to get the planting instructions. They then send you a link to a You Tube video to show you how to plant. These are for outdoor planting only as the container is made of a felt like material and will leak water out of it. Now I just have to wait to see how things grow.

This is a fun experiment. I have never been able to sustain any garden. Mini Salad Gardening Kit includes organic seeds (kale, arugula, spinach), fabric container, potting soil and saucer, watering nozzle and security stake. Once you text the code to the included number, you receive occasional texts reminding you to water and tips for success. It couldn’t be any easier It’s only been 7 days and every pod has grown something. I don’t have a clue what is what. I’ll just have to watch and see how they mature. Seedsheets us organic, non-GMO soil to produce a lot of plants in as little as 1 sq ft of space. They say: “We’ve paired fast growing companion plants that provide nutrients and beneficial support to encourage healthy and robust plant growth”. I hope this is the case and someday I can actually make a salad with my home-grown plants.

Everything necessary to start a small salad garden came in a small package. A small fabric container, organic potting mix, a watering tip you can add to a water bottle, a stake to hold the seed sheet in place and the seedsheet itself. The seedsheet is pretty interesting. It looks like standard landscape weed blocking fabric that has 3 holes with round plastic looking packets that contain the seeds and starting soil. You put the included potting mix in the container, add the seedsheet on top, stake it down, then water using the watering tip on a water bottle. As you water, the packet wrapping will start to disolve. A few days later the salad sprouts will come up. The spinach came up a day after the other seeds did and I didn't get great germination with the spinach. The first weekend after I planted I was out of town which may have contributed but I still got 3 spinach seedlings. This looks like a good idea for people that want to get into gardening but don't want to spend a lot of time figuring out what to buy and how to take care of the seeds and plants. Dealing with small seeds can also be a challenge for some people that may not have the dexterity they once had due to age or other reasons. Cost, as of the time I'm writing this, is similar to buying a small container, potting mix and the 3 different seed packets. The kit didn't come with instructions other than instructions to text a number which will then text you instructions and reminders of tasks to keep your mini garden healthy such as when to think the plants and water. Another nice feature for people new to gardening. I really like the included watering tip. It looks like it's supposed to screw onto the top of a standard water bottle. I tried 16 and 20oz spring water bottles but it didn't screw on either of them. I had to hold it in place but I still really like it and will probably use it next time I'm starting seeds. For the salad kit, I think it would have been nice if it came with either a second seed sheet or additional seeds. Salad greens are generally grown twice in a season. Planted in late winter or early spring and pick greens as you need them, then when it gets too hot the plants bolt (go to seed) and get too bitter to eat and need to be pulled and discarded. In mid to late summer you can plant seeds again for a second crop in the fall. Seedsheets come in different sizes. These small mini sheets, larger container sheets and even 4' x 8' sheets to cover an entire raised garden bed. It looks like a very interesting concept.

This handy kit ships with instructions to text to them to begin the growing process. They ask for your name and used my name once, I think, in efforts to personalize your experience, so you can make one up in my experience if you prefer to stay anonymous. The experience basically sends a youtube link on how to get started. I started my mini salads after texting and watching the video. The plants are growing and the process is actually very easy to follow with the pre-packaged seeds in a disc, fiber planter, a 1L water bottle attachment for watering and bag of dirt. I did think there was a little too much dirt and watering the kit makes a mess every time because the pile is taller than the ridge of the planter. No big deal since my kit is outside. Overall, I like it and the sprouts are about 2" high now. Each looks a little different from the other pods but I actually have no idea what I am growing since they aren't labeled. Interesting idea, good for kids and experimenting with growing stuff, not very specific on what you are growing (and that drives me a little bonkers) and a little too much dirt that is expected to be poured into the planter (use a little less than the whole bag to keep things tidy). Nice touch that the system texts you once in a while to remind you to water the plants and to place them outside of where to place them if they are inside.

This is a really great idea for growing herbs and salad without having the need to go out side to harvest them. I like that they come ready to set up and can be placed indoors. The container takes up little space so you ca place it on a counter top. They come in sealed water soluble pods attached to a weed proof fabric. When they are watered the pods dissolve and they start to develop. You register by texting them and you receive instructions for starting and texts to remind you to water. In nine days they have come up and are thriving.

I probably should have paid better attention to the online description. This was not what I expected. I expected a solid pot to plant the greens. However, it is a felt/fabric bowl. This would be an ok gift for a kid, but I wouldn't get this for an adult. The fabric bowl is very messy. The materials all appear to be rather cheaply made. How the greens will turn out is yet to be seen.

Great way to start a little salad garden! The next morning I could see little leaves coming up on one of the pods. I was sent a text message( after registering by text), reminding me to water it. They also send a you tube video as to how to assemble it and how often to water (twice a day) .Little screw on cap ( attaches to a water bottle ) is quite handy to water plants with. Has a sprinkler cap that doesn't damage the tender leaves as they grow out the pods. The pods started to dissolve after the first watering.I would like to get the one with the tomato's next! Everything you need comes in the kit! Even if you live in an apartment and have little to no outside space you can grow these!

Makes gardening simple! I was a little iffy about what is considered a salad but so far so good! Laying everything out is simple and it has already started to sprout after a short period of time. I am very happy with this! I wish that they would make versions that have vegetables because spring gardening would be so much easier! Just a note too I have an automated drip irrigation system watering this which is why I think it has grown so fast.
