Product Overview

Give your tomatoes and other vining plants the support they need to grow with the Gilbert & Bennett 54 in. heavy-duty blue tomato cage (5-pack). Plants that grow inside a cage utilize the sides of the cage to support the stems and need fewer ties. Just place one plant inside the cage and guide the stems through as they grow. This tomato cage is strong enough to help keep even the largest tomato plants contained and under control without blocking sunlight or rain. This tomato cage keeps plants growing tall and off the ground for better air circulation while the large openings give easy access for harvesting. This cage can be used in a garden bed, raised garden, or for container gardening while the blue color can help with organization of different plants while also giving a decorative look to your garden. These cages are easy to take out at the end of the season and are stackable within each other for easy storage.

Sturdy cages
I had bought tomato cages before from grocery stores and was always disappointed at how thin the wire was. These have a much stronger wire, which will not deform as easily and should hold up to rust longer too. The wires are galvanized to help prevent rusting. Some cages are a little deformed when delivered but are easily bent back into shape. The cages are 54" tall - now my tomatoes just need to grow a bit to make the cage not look that huge anymore.

54 in. Tomato cage
These tomato cages are huge and large enough for almost full grown tomatoes. I am using them now for my small hibiscus bush that is at the back end of my driveway to protect it from delivery drivers that may not be as careful about turning around in my driveway. They are holding up well even with a full week of heavy rain and high winds. They never toppled or bent. I do recommend getting them.

Cages Needed
I used to plant just two or three tomato plants in my garden. Now that I start the seeds in my house in April, there are lots more plants. Which means lots more tomato cages needed. I already have some, but by the end of last year some were not really good anymore. So this influx of five more will be very helpful. What I noticed about these new ones are that they are of a stronger galvanized wire, 7 gauge legs, 8 gauge rings, than the older ones. They are also a larger 54 inch diameter. They will keep the plants more contained. As the weather is still unpredictable, these seedlings will not be planted until next month.

Galvanized Tomato Cage
I chose the 54" Tomato Cage because of the height of the tomato plants when they get larger. These cages and Heavy Duty and best of all, they are galvanized which means they will last much longer that the regular brands. The multi pack is a great way to start and you can always add on to the cages as needed for more plants.I would recommend this to any gardner.

Due to poor welding of the rings to vertical elements they tend to separate very easily.

I would never buy these again, they are junk, save your money, almost everyone if the 10 I bought the circular part of them was not welded, if they were they were done so cheaply they didn't stick, these should not even be sold.

    Tomato Armor
These tomato cages are very thick and sturdy providing the ultimate protection and support for your tomato plants. These cages have good weight and have stood up to heavy storms and wind thus without even showing any need for adjustments. What a difference from the performance of my old cages. The bottoms of the cages are easy to adjust but not so easy that they will mangle if you hit some hard ground when you stick it in.

A GREAT SUPPORT FOR A VARIETY OF PLANTS, NOT JUST TOMATOES!
if you grow vine crops: large varieties of indeterminate heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers or miniature pumpkins you know they want to creep and crawl and you have to keep the fruit off the ground. They get top heavy in a hurry and the dime store variety tomato cages just don't do the job without a lot of extra ugly reinforcements and staking. These huge 54 inch Galvanized tomato cages don't need it. They're not only taller and larger in diameter but the steel they're made out of, by my old eyes and calipers, appears to be about 5/32 of an inch thick! These aren't made out of coat hangers. They'll support large, heavy fruit bearing plants , a particular concern especially in windy

Great Support For My Tomato Plants
I got these for some potted tomatoes that are supposed to get quite tall. These are welded together nice and clean with a nice weight wire. Made of galvanized steel wire they appear to be able to withstand the elements. They are easy to use and was able to also put into our rocky soil. They wire weight is better them some I have used in the past. My tomato plant are about half way up the cage and the limbs are supported well. I will recommend these.

    G & B galvanized tomato cage
I have had tomato gardens for more than 25 years and found that tomato cages do a great job in supporting and keeping plants healthier. Over the years I've tried different size and style cages. The 54 inch with four prongs is the best in my opinion. I had to bid goodbye to several of my old cages at the end of last season and this 5 pack of the galvanized cages area welcome addition. I just tilled my garden and these 5 cages will give me years of support for my plants.

    54 IN. GALVANIZED TOMATO CAGE
These 5 pack of 54 IN. GALVANIZED TOMATO CAGEs are such a fabulous, strong and durable design. The heavy gauge wire, which is well constructed and soldered, into the frame is robust. The size of the frames, and the spacing between tiers make it perfect for the largest plants such as Aubergines, Cucumber, and Beefsteak Tomatoes, to more modest pea and bean plants. Great quality & size.

    Best Cages Ever!
I've used many different ways to hold up my tomatoes over the years: round metal cages, square metal cages, posts, wire fencing and horizontal wires running between posts. But I still like metal cages best, they're sturdy and compact and allow me to easily plant tomatoes in different spots each year. These galvanized cages are the best I've ever had; very strong and solid with good welds (the welds are usually what fail in past cages I've owned). We're having an early spring this year near NYC so I already planted tomatoes using these cages. They're perfect.
