A: The arms snap on and off, so I’d say yes to your question.
A: The stakes are a coated metal, so I didn’t worry about lead. The cross pieces are plastic. It has worked great for me.
A: I believe it has metal as the core and then it is coated in a rubber/plastic. The horizontal clips are all plastic. Hope that helps.
A: We are sorry for any confusion. The Ultomato has a hollow steel rod in the center that is coated with plastic.
A: I can’t imagine what reason anyone would put lead in a product such as this. The detrimental effect on anyone’s health would be enough reason to eliminate it from consideration, not to mention the fact that weight is the most expensive consideration for cost. Lead is very heavy = Lead is very expensive to ship. No good reason to use lead in this product. I do Not think there is lead in this product! Period.
A: The label states something about the presence of lead. However, all of the poles in the kit are sealed in plastic, so the possibility of leakage is probably minimal.
A: The core of this item is a metal rod. The item has the California Prop 65 on it for Lead. Proposition 65 requires warning labels on products that may contain any of 800-plus chemicals or ingredients that the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) lists as a carcinogen or a reproductive toxicant. Proposition 65 is a “right to know” law. It does not prohibit the use of any chemicals in products. In fact, many of the chemicals listed under Proposition 65 are common everyday additives in manufacturing processes ( e.g., Ethylene Glycol-which is used in compressor shrouds as a flame retardant, lead-which is used to machine brass parts, etc.) and can be found in common consumer products such as jewelry, lamps, ceramic tableware, lead crystal glasses, electric cords, automobiles, and beauty products. California revised the labeling requirements required for products manufactured after August 30 2018. Midwest Air Technologies complies with these rules. As a result, you may see different warnings on our products, based on the manufacturing date. For example, on a product manufactured before August 30, 2018, you may see this warning “This product contains chemicals known in the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm” Whereas on the same product, manufactured after August 30, 2018, you might see this warning “WARNING: CONTAINS LEAD. May be harmful if eaten or chewed. May generate dust containing lead. Wash hands after use. Keep out of reach of children.” WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. Likely, the product has not changed in its composition, and the new warning was updated to comply with the new California rules. MAT Industries sells products to all 50 states, and has taken the position to place these warnings within our owner’s manual, or on the actual product or packaging, whether or not it ends up in California.
